  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been separated from my husband for over 2yrs. and will soon be getting divorced. I was married for 24yrs. and from the beginning, there was no connection. He has a personality disorder and it caused our marriage to be very shallow. In other words, he never allowed me to get to know him. I eventually left him. Anyhow, my concern is that I now find myself missing him at times. I don't feel I want to go back, because nothing would have changed. Has anyone else experienced these feelings of missing their exspouse, and why do you think this is. Thanks

It's normal to miss our ex's. Sometimes I look out at the place where we used to set up picnics on the weekend and I'l remember how we all were laughing and playing in the summer sun. It was a beautiful experience and I wish the whole relationship could have been like that. Other days I walk past the door of the woman who my stbx cheathe with and I just feel week and angry. It's an emotional rollercoaster. I miss friends that have drifted away as well. I think it's totally normal to miss someone you've had any kind of positive experience with... don't beat yourself up over it. Just be thankful for the memories.

To miss your ex is very normal. You have spent so much of your lives together, even if the marriage wasn't great. Go with it and take it to your heavenly Father who loves you dearly. Over time you will likely find that you miss him less, at least that has been my experience. As tryingtobeagain said, the feelings will come and go, triggered by different things you may see, hear and do.

Although possibly well intentioned, I want to encourage you not to take condemnation re: knowing your husband and blame for the divorce. Many people do not understand the effect of personality disorders and you can only know a person as much as they will let you. Regardless of who may ave done what, there is enough pain in divorce without condemnation.

I pray you will seek and find rest and comfort in Jesus as you go through this time. He loves you and is with you every moment.

Bless you
