A couple of years ago some people in my church put up a tree in the front. An elderly lady (friend of mine) went up there basically torn it apart right before the sabbath service. I chuckle when I think about it. They of course hate her. But if I was there I would have done it myself too.

:D Well, the people in our church who were against displaying the Christmas tree in church (they didn't seem to have a problem with it in their homes, however) didn't tear up the tree. They just refused to come to church while it was there. Personally, I thought that the majority group was wrong to insist on having a tree when they knew that it would drive people away. Splitting the church over decorations is really selfish and un-Christlike. Sadly, things like that often happen in the church.

If they have a tree in their own home, that's 'alittle' inconsistent that they objected the tree in the church. IMHO, God called us out of Babylon. We shouldn't have anything to do with a pagan holiday.

Jeremiah went to the king's court and threw the pagan statues to the ground. Though I'm not above making mistakes myself, I can not tolerate open sin. We had a big problem last time when the youth had a valentine banquet (It's always something with the youth, isn't it. I blame the parents). So I can't wait for the final shaking.

I didnt read all of the past posts but: I have heard people saying that we should keep all of the OT sabbath laws if we are going to keep the sabbath. Makes sense to me so why dont we? Acould someone give me a list of all the OT sabbath laws?

You meant the annual sabbaths laws?

Here's a link to all the 613 laws. http://www.jewfaq.org/613.htm Scroll down to time and season.

Basically they made everything starts with 'thou shalt' into a law. There are moral laws (expansion of the 10 commandments), civil ordinances, war, sexual conducts, agriculture regulation, levitical priest laws and ceremonial laws that pertain to sanctuary services...

You will see many of these can no longer be applied: land and agricultural regulations, sanctuary services and priest laws since there is no temple, no high priest, no sacrifice...

So their position is inconsistant.
