A person in position of power should be concerned with making our country better... with promoting our country... with improving and expanding our influence on foreign countries.

Getting paid to bash your own country does none of those... and in fact... is almost the exact opposite.

If your brother were a kleptomaniac... would you discuss the problems in your own house... or would you go to all the neighbors to do it? If the neighbors overhear it then that's fine... but to purposely tear your brother down in front of them...

If your brother were a murderer...would you - after trying to convince him to turn himself in, and exhausting alternatives in the house - report him to the authorities yourself?

But again, i have to rephrase my question. You are concerned with those in "a position of power" "making anti-American speeches" overseas. Surely you have examples of those who have done it, correct?

Define "position of power". Celebrities? Politicians? Government officials? Ex-government officials? Community leaders? Heads of organizations?

What constitutes "anti-American" speech? Anything critical of our government's actions?

Well, there you have it! And I couldn’t agree more. The thing is, most people who speak out against the government are concerned with making the country better. That’s why they’re speaking out. That they may disagree with your viewpoint is quite irrelevant.

Absolutely.

But that is a faulty comparison... these speeches are not given to 'the authorities'.

It may be all of the above.

It is anyone who is able to influence the direction of our government... any branch.

No... not everything critical of our governments actions is 'anti-American'... that being said, how you present it may make it so.

And they should! But do it here! What good does going overseas to tell other countries do? Nothing... other then line your pocketbook.
