CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i sing flat in church -- but today a nun complimented me cause at least i sing (rather too loudly) the Gloria -- my favorite song!!

I am probably a sharp and occasionally screechy singer.
A good memory from the pentecostal days was the assistant pastor was a bad singer and he knew it, but he would lead hymns with gusto and make people less self conscious of how they sounded and really everyone would sing out much more for it. So keep at it Lonnie.

I like to wake up early just so I can lie in bed for a couple of hours.

Reading this post makes me want to go get a chocolate bar and an oversized mug of tea.
I say oversized to mean oversized in itself because it is clear that any container of tea, in the action of containing tea, can never be considered too big.
