  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Chocolate. That is the #1 food that I will eat that I shouldn't. I can, all too easily and all too often, make a meal out of chocolate. Cake, donuts, cookies, icing...especially those Little Debbie Snack's (those are the best!).

Milk (if we can consider it as food) would be #2. I used to drink 3-4 gallons/week. In the past two weeks I haven't had any and hope to be able to control that better in the future.

Oddly enough, the salty stuff I can easily keep away from....chips, pretzels, etc. It's also very easy for me to stay away from pop or alcohol.

When I get to heaven, my diet will only include my husband's grandma's lemon meringue pie, and any/all flavours of cheeze cake. (And someone to scratch my back). Thanks for listening, keep on eating, keep on feeling good about it, God Bless, J

This has changed over the years. When I used to have a food obsession, it was all sorts of foods from pizza, to eggrolls, to hot dogs, to fruit salad, anything and everything.

Once I started working on my self-esteem, the food obsession stopped. But, I still wasn't eating the way my body wanted, although most would consider my diet then pretty healthy (the macronutrient ratios were off and I didn't know it). So, then I had carb cravings like for ice cream, sandwiches, fruit, sweet things, and fattening things like cheesecake, custard, etc.

Now that I typically eat the way my body wants, rarely do I ever have cravings for any particular food. Although, the other day I didn't have enough protein in my diet, so then I had an ice cream drumstick craving. As long as I'm not lazy and eat enough protein/fat at each meal, no cravings whatsoever.

Since I average eating 5x/day, it takes a bit of work to organize eating and making sure I get enough protein/fat at each meal. Although I do like food, frankly, I wish I didn't have to eat.

Have never liked chocolate. I can take it or leave it. That's one thing that I feel God totally naturally blessed me with -- an aversion to chocolate. I cannot see why people like this so much. :)

My friend, you are indeed blessed.

If I can be off topic real quick...I had an organic chem class in college. The professor suggested that there was a chemical, natural to chocolate, that the human body "thinks" it needs. I say think because what more do we really need than God? Anyhow, she even went as far as to say that this was the "love" chemical (can't remember the structure off hand...I'd have to look it up). I don't think the love part is right because I'm blessed with an awesome girlfriend...however, I'm convinced that my body "thinks" it needs it. When I'm stressed, chocolate tends to be the stress reliever. Not sure why some bodies need it and others don't...perhaps it's the genetic makeup which kind of makes sense because EVERYONE in my family is a chocoholic. Anyhow, in answer to your question, it's purely a chemical thing.
