if everyone can be saved in their last moments then what is the harm of delaying repentance?...
No one knows when he will die and if he will find opportunity to repent

There are so many ins and outs and maybes in that post that it's hard to know how best to handle it. However, it is the Christian belief that repentance is never closed off to any sinner so long as he is alive in the flesh.

But of course, someone who lives badly and counts on a last chance may not live to see it. And people who repent but then backslide--or never were really repentant at all--cannot cheat God.

The sole point in all of this is that the sinner can always turn and be forgiven...and saved. However, what's going on in anyone's brain with his calculations, or the rest of that which you questioned, is not really ours to decide.

I don’t know if everyone can be saved and fulfill the parables if they were not tried and tested and overcome

blessed is the man who endures temptation for when he has been approved he will receive the crown of life

it is best to overcome all your life for you don’t know how long you will live

Or you will most be able to succeed if you overcome earlier trials where it may be harder later

Perhaps only some will find God in the late hours if they deserve excuse but those who have been called early may not find salvation at the end if they were given a fair chance to find Him in the beginning some will find Him at the end because they never got their chances properly

God is not willing that any should perish without their chances but if a person lives in sin wilfully and he has fair chance He was not willing for them to perish but they will perish for not having had the oil necessary at that time. It may still be possible to find oil late but you won’t find it in the last second if you did not seek earlier when they say you have till your last second to be saved it means if you have been preparing before that

therefore let everything that has breath praise the Lord means everyone will just have to give glory to God whether they were saved or not

and God is not willing that any should perish means just God gives everyone to their last breath to offer repentance not that everyone can obtain it late

if God thought them worthy to live that long but to be worthy of salvation in such a small time it may still be possible but you would have to fight a difficult struggle

Those are my thoughts it may not be true and it may be possible for anyone to be saved late but they still have to struggle harder

No one knows how long he will live but perhaps it is never too late to find Christ and accept Him though it can be harder and you only have one chance

However it could become too late to be a saint but not to be saved but God will somehow prepare works for you to follow up to the last moments you have but the more you delay the harder it is to find oil but He is always working for ones salvation perhaps

No one however knows how long he will live and I don’t know if there is always hope to the end but there could be but it will be harder many trying late to find oil do not so Jesus said strive to enter by the narrow gate for many will seek to enter and will not be able its not that they can’t find it and God does not want them to find it because they may still have time to strive however late but they still need to strive and if they are wasting the time God gives them they could die sooner if God has thought they reached the point of no return or if they don’t die as long as grace can still act to allow one to have works that fulfill all the parables and have a new heart atleast ready if you lived longer to fullfill all the parables God may accept but you never know if you have been redeemed for works are evidence of salvation and the new heart

The bible says strive to enter by the narrow gate because it is indeed harder to be saved late and works are a proof you have been saved and may be necessary

Many are called but few are chosen because few are wise it may be much harder to be wise in latter days in general but also for you may not even know where to find the oil

if you have not repented of all sins and done all the works of repentance and righteousness before you die you can not be saved. God may grant repentance to some late because they deserve to find Him but if one has been called early he should seek to be righteous as soon as possible for he does not know if he will find time later to be righteous and get oil or if he will die in sin and chances are gone. You should therefore seek Him while He can be found while there is time to get oil. You have to be righteous early to ensure you find Him and continue in righteousness so you can be worthy of having enough oil at the end but some others may be able to complete all righteousness at the end those who were idle because no one hired them that is the gospel was never preached to them God only knows if they deserve more time to receive it and follow it

Perhaps all the parable of the wise and foolish virgins speak of is that those who we’re foolish virgins were concerned about external show but did not spend time to have real justifying faith which is evidenced by a new Spirit the wise trusted in Christ for salvation and not their own righteousness though they bear fruit as proof of salvation they were telling the foolish to trust in Christ to make them righteous not being righteous without Him and go to Him while there is time to get that new heart and feel some assurance though you can never know but the parable ends with the foolish standing outside because at some point it will be too late to get the oil and that is when the bridegroom comes that is your death if He comes while you just started to seek Him and you still did not put enough effort to find and He comes then it is too late

I think it is never too late to accept Christ and have oil while there is time but if you delay you make it harder to get it for you don’t know how hard it will be to get it and the obstacles you will face to get it and you don’t know if you will make best use of remaining time to find and get the oil

Also you don’t know how long you will have to live or you will die unexpectadly it is indeed harder to get the oil at the very end because you have less chances to find Christ though you are given the chance you deserve

I think the above may not be true or it may be very hard to find Him at the end so you should not delay and I could have overstretched while they went to buy the bridegroom came to mean perhaps there is still hope if they sought to buy if they still make effort but it may be too late Jesus doesn’t say Jesus describes them as foolish for delaying to seek the oil but they may be especially described as the foolish because He knows they also will not heed the wise instruction and delay seeking oil to the point it becomes too late they may have just started to seek it when their death came we don’t know it could have been too late before that when they started to notice they needed the oil it could have been too late not that everyone who notices he needs oil it is already too late but it may at one time be too late if there is not enough time to become righteous and fullfil all the parables

42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The Lord promises He will come when people are sleeping if you had not oil before that it will be too late

The wise worried they do not have enough oil

Meaning if they had never been good before that they worry they wont have oil when He comes if they are not living in Christ at that moment

So you need to seek the oil now because if you don’t seek it now you must be worried He can come at any time you don’t have the oil when it will be too late to seek the oil if you get the oil you must seek to stay in righteousness if He delays or you won’t have it

God has not promised how patient He will be but He promises He will come when you are not expecting it or saying He can come at any time and if you happen not to have the oil then you won’t be saved. No one knows in what way he will die and it is harder to find Christ on your death bed than before that and you won’t know how long you will have to live and you may not know where to find the oil which you have to seek diligently for something may help your soul but not enough and you need to seek more

But not to every person does God promise time to repent on their death bed but some will die unexpectadly but these verses say if you are not living righteous you can be brought to your death bed any time and it is harder to find oil then

Do you think the below verse teaches it can be too late for some to be saved if they are still alive is it so if they do not seek to repent while one can still find out what one can do to repent that God may accept them if they seek Him diligently while there is still time

Nahum 3:19
Your injury has no healing,
Your wound is severe.
All who hear news of you
Will clap their hands over you,
For upon whom has not your wickedness passed continually?

Does this just mean some punishments sent by God to make one repent can not be taken away by any physician not even God will heal you in this life but you can repent. This does not mean one can not be saved but in this life one sickness the punishment will not be healed. But some take it to mean one soul also can not be made fully alive now completely here so they believe in purgatory or that after death people can be restored to life to be saved in the world to come

I think I have been hard in this thread because of fear that one can not find out how to be saved and fear one could die without opportunity but I believe as we know the truth is in Jesus if one strives hard to seek Jesus and obey His word he can be saved it is not beyond their ability if they have God for with God all things are possible. If one wants to be sure he is abiding in Christ he can get help from the church which is made up of other believers which gives much opportunity to help make sure one is on the way by teaching the word and helping form disciples and giving opportunity to follow Him. But one only needs Christ to know how to be His disciple but the church helps make sure one is truly one and be a better disciple to help more.

if everyone can be saved in their last moments then what is the harm of delaying repentance?

I think there is no promise for sinners that they will live long and that the time they have remaining is easy to find oil though possible if they strive really hard. If God is patient it is because there are many righteous people praying but in the bible it says even if Job or Noah or Daniel were to pray He would not be patient to a people or person if He sees there is no hope
maybe if they are very wicked already having had many chances we do not know how many chances we had. I don't mean to say so to cause despair because it could be God is patient because we did not have many chances but I don't know if that is the case

The below may not be true because it it is best to assume it is very difficult to be saved at the end than from the beginning

if a person has no good works but then later puts his faith in Christ alone to save him now in this moment he can be saved because the work of God is to believe on Him whom He sent the oil of the wise virgins is to get the faith to put your trust in Christ for salvation to forgive all your previous sins but faith without works is dead so you need to confess to others you have put your trust in Christ and does what good you can do with remaining time as you read bible God will prepare good works for you to follow as you look for opportunities to follow the gospel

And about previous offenses you can confess all your sins to God and ask for opportunity to do good

No one knows when he will die and if he will find opportunity to repent
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.Acts 2:28
We must first receive the holy spirit in order to become spiritual beings with Christ at His return. This is the first resurrection.Rev. 20:4-5

I believe belief in Jesus gives the Holy Spirit because Paul says if you have not the Spirit you are not His. And Paul said no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. But baptism is still required to have Holy Spirit regeneration power as it is therefore called the gift of the Holy Spirit not just to dwell in you to sanctify you in helping you to be convicted to stop sinning and teaching you how to obey God but unite you to God fully to take away all your sins as Jesus said you have the be born of the water and the Spirit. The water allows gift of Holy Spirit to take away one sin and unite one to God but there is still a spiritual birth done by the Holy Spirit to make one believe and it dwells in one to lead one to obey God but it does not take away all sin in this life and to allow you to commune with God to do so to unite one with God completely in this life

Forgiveness of sins means just that. It does not mean that you can go out and continue to sin. People do make mistakes and sin but repentance is absolutely necessary. To repent means that you must truly want to change your ways and do God's will which is His commandments, plural. The Holy spirit is our helper when we receive it after baptism and remission of our sins.John 14:15-18. Birth into the spirit is not until after the first fruits in Christ are resurrected to spiritual beings beings at the last or seventh trumpet 1 Corinthians 15:50-52.

I never disagreed that you don’t have to repent but what should you say of a person who was not baptized because he was convinced by another sincere preacher who wanted to attract more people to God who wouldn’t otherwise come because they believed God would not want them preaching baptism is essential so they should not think if they don’t have a ritual mentioned in the bible that they are not Christian like communion so they can trust in Christ character and some people really were convinced such a ritual is not essential but I suppose they should be baptized anyway if it could be essential but the preacher was sincere and it may not be essential because God really may only care about a person being a disciple and following Him

I can only tell you what scripture says. Some preachers may be sincere but it is the word of God that counts if we are to "live by every word of God." Matthew and Luke 4:4.This is what Peter was inspired to say in Acts 2:38

True but as for me I think the Lord wants me to believe in Him that it is not required if others fear if they don’t teach they need to be baptized to be saved ever then they will not be saved they can teach it and be baptized but I think I will only hold it is necessary to be saved upon death

The first and foremost reason is that God commanded baptism and gave the example to do it. One of Christ's final commands to His apostles was, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age"Matthew 28:19-20.
Second, there is a process surrounding baptism, repentance and acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Savior, followed by baptism, after which a true minister of Jesus Christ lays hands on the baptized individual for God to impart His Holy Spirit. We need baptism because we need God's forgiveness, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.
When we repent of sin, we are deeply sorry for having transgressed God's law. We no longer have a hostile attitude toward God and His law of liberty. We no longer have a carnal attitude that is enmity against the law of God. Romans 8:7. After repentance, we want to be in harmony with God's law of love, the Ten Commandments.
God will only give His special spiritual blessings to those who are willing to repent, to believe and to obey Him. As Peter wrote: "For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now 'If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?' 1 Peter 4:17-18.
Jesus Christ is our living Savior. We will be saved by His life. Romans 5:10.

To the question you are asking here,

'condition for people to be saved in their last moments'

Just reminding them of how Good and forgiving is that God loves and cares about them and desires to have a relationship with Him, and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.

That, all sins for all mankind have been forgiven, and anyone who believes receives the spirit that God gives through faith by grace, through having believe in God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day. Which also symbolizes that we all will be resurrected one day in our very last day here on earth.
