Winter Jam 2004 Sets Attendance Records!
The Winter Jam 2004 has played in 16 of its 22 cities with record attendances in most markets.
New Song, with 17 #1 radio hits in the last decade on Christian radio, has been the annual host for Winter Jam for the past nine years.
The concept began with two cities (Greenville SC and Chattanooga TN), where we would invite some of our artist friends to perform with us every January, claims Eddie Carswell of New Song.
It grew into a tour we called the January Jam Tour, but there was so much interest for it that it expanded into February. Four years ago we renamed it the Winter Jam Tour. We are discussing expanding Winter Jam into March next year with the possibility of visiting 30 cities.
Over 70,000 have attended the event and there are six more shows to play. The 2004 Winter Jam lineup consists of Audio Adrenaline, Relient K, New Song, Todd Agnew, and new Sparrow recording artist Jadyn Maria.
In addition to the musical portion of the evening, this year Winter Jam went over the top by inviting Brock Gill, a nationally-acclaimed illusionist to join the Winter Jam artists. Brock will amaze you with his illusions, says Roy Morgan, of Premier Productions.
One of his illusions is where he rides a motorcycle blind-folded through the audience on the arena floor. People are in awe of his unique performance!
In addition to all of the entertainment, Winter Jam has become known as a huge evangelistic tool to reach the non-Christian community. With its non-ticketed, $10 at the door admission, the evening is affordable for all age groups to attend. Over 3,500 decisions for Christ have been made this year with an overwhelming response to the altar call.
The remaining Winter Jam 2004 dates will perform in the following cities:
2/26th Birmingham AL Boutwell Auditorium
2/27th Columbia SC The Colonial Center
2/28th Lakeland FL Carpenters Home Church
Make plans on attending if you are near these areas.
Enjoy!
