  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been pretty sick for the last week or so. What started out as neck pains developed into what I thought was a migraine, then I started throwing up, which was followed by a cold and extremely sore throat, high fever(my face felt like it was ON FIRE!!!!), weakness, and passing out. DH took me to the ER Saturday night and I was told that it was a virus and a severe sinus infection. the doctor asked me if i have had the sinus infection for a while and i told him yes, that i had taken a couple of different antibiotics over the last month or so in attempt to get rid of it. He also kept asking me if I had felt the baby move, was I sure I felt him? This worried me. So after being given a couple of bags of fluid, some antibiotics by IV, and some phenegrin...they sent me home with a couple of prescriptions. I slept the very vast majority of the last 36 hours (I would say about 28 of them). My problem is this: I havent felt the baby move in about 28 hours. I called the OB and she told me that if I don't feel him move by tomorrow morning, I have to go in so they can check on him by sono. She told me I shouldnt be concerned, but I cannot help but be. The baby is EXTREMELY active, always moving about and kicking...and it has been virtually nothing...it is so not like him and I cannot help but freak out...should I be freakng out? or am i overreacting?

Let me try to answer you with God's Word...

Matt 6:25-34 - Explains that we should not worry.

Deut 31:6 - Explains that we do not need to worry or be afraid because the Lord is with us and will not leave or foresake us.

Psalm 41:6 - reinforces the above

Psalm 62:8 - This is the first "Action" verse.. it tells us to TRUST in him as the first action.. POUR out our hearts to him as a second action, and also reinforces He is our refuge.

Phil 4:6-7 - Also tells us not to worry... and gives us more action!
"but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God"

These last to are sooo important. Because when you try to give God one of your bad habits (worrying), it MUST be replaced with something godly! Prayer... Thanksgiving, letting God in on your requests! Tell him how you feel, how you'd like to feel and ask Him to be refuge for your baby!

I will be praying for the health of you and your baby. Remember that God isn't too big for anything! Lean on Him and not your own understanding... look up these verses and find encouragement in God's promises!

I would go in to be checked... my baby is also very active and if she stops moving even for 2 hours or so I start worrying, so I really understand where you're coming from. Most likely, she has less energy because you've been sick and haven't been eating as much as you normally do (if you're like me, anyway), so hopefully if you have something to eat with sugar and drink something cold (like Linnis said) you may have some luck.

I had bronchitis about a month ago and also had 2 days or so when I was TOTALLY out of it, sleeping all the time, and I can't remember the baby kicking at all during that time... but then again, I was totally out of it! Maybe it's the same in your case, that the baby was moving a lot but you slept right through it?

I don't think you're overreacting (worrying comes with the territory, after all) but luckily you have the option of getting it checked out. Let us know when you feel those kicks or get the news from the ultrasound!

My baby stopped moving after I was pretty sick. I was told to try drinking a glass of really cold water and eat some cookies and then if he doesn't move, try agan in 30 minutes. They also suggested trying a can of soda or something else sweet.

Benjamin was a bit different - he didn't respond to cold drinks, only hot...

Baby Justin is back...not so much in full force as he was, but he is coming around...the strength is there but the frequency isn't. i called the dr. back and let them know i felt him moving and they said as long as i felt him at all, not to worry that he is just bouncing back from my being down! thank you, thank you, thank you ladies for 1) your prayers and encouragement and 2) putting up with crazy first time psycho mommy!!!
