  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’ve been pretty concerned about my heart for about three days since a reaction to coffee. I’ve been checking my pulse periodically. When I am sitting it’s about 84-90bpm. When I’m walking around the house I feel like it’s beating faster than normal. It very well might be my imagination getting to me I’m just worried. I don’t know if I should go to the doc. But when I worked out all last week I felt great.

I am praying that everything is fine.
I would go get an EKG and check it out. Tachycardia is normal after having to much caffeine and especially if you are not used to that much. So it probably is nothing, But better safe than sorry friend

Sounds like some pretty good coffee.

Did you try sleeping? Sleeping always relaxes me.

Why not go see a doctor, just in case. Saves you from a lot of worrying. Said a prayer for your health and peace of mind.
Thank you, you’re right I’m just deathly afraid of the doctor I have major white coat syndrome. But I probably will go thank you for the prayer❤️

Is going to a doctor a problem financially or for any other reason? Me, I just hate to even bother, that's why I ask.

Have you researched the numbers you gave in the OP? what was the result?
I have major white coat syndrome, 84-90 is normal, I’m not sure what my bpm are when I’m walking around i should probably check. ThNk you for the reply

Go see the doctor.

Honestly I'd say it's anxiety at this point and anxiety can have physical symptoms like pain or discomfort in the chest and, commonly, elevated heart rate. So if your heart rate is something you're anxious about then it's a fire feeding itself.

Go see the doctor and they'll put your mind at ease and, in the rare event there is something wrong with you at your age, they'll soon find out.

Try relax, keep your mind occupied.

Do all you can at home, and if there appears to be a problem, it sounds like you will go to a doctor.

Save that fear till you are 65- 70yrs or older when it's more likely to be warranted. :)

And you are welcome.

But when I worked out all last week I felt great.

I was having pains in my chest and after a couple of days a friend said I should go to the ER. When I went, more than one doctor came in and it took a while to diagnose the problem. It had to do with potassium levels in my blood.

"If you have hyperkalemia, you have too much potassium in your blood. The body needs a delicate balance of potassium to help the heart and other muscles work properly. But too much potassium in your blood can lead to dangerous, and possibly deadly, changes in heart rhythm."
Hyperkalemia (High Potassium in Blood)

Please see a doctor.
