  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

back pain could mean UT infection... more than likely it is as the others have said your uterus stretching. my suggestion is that if it is worring you a great deal call the dr and more than likely they will try and get you in as soon as possible to ease your mind.

I had cramping, but it felt a bit different to period cramping - stretching rather than contracting. But having been through one pregnancy and labour, maybe it's easier for me to tell than a 1st-timer? You may also get round ligament pain in the next few weeks - that can be scary because it can feel like shooting, stabbing pains that go on for minutes then disappear. But they're usually on a vertical line, rather than across the belly.

Back pain could just be hormonal. Your body starts producing relaxin early on in pregnancy... that and progesterone tends to cause the back muscles to relax a bit. Not really its primary objective - the idea is to allow the uterine and abdominal muscles to relax enough to give bubs room to grow. Later on in the pg everything will be affected... it'll be far easier to strain or sprain any muscle in your body.

I read once that drinking lots of water helps with cramping. We can get dehydrated very quickly. I don't know if this apply to early pregnancy but ladies can have contractions in late stages due to dehydration! When I feel crampy, I reach for the water and lie down if possible. But also, crampiness is totally normal all through pregnancy!!

Well yes, mild cramping is normal. I had them for about 3 weeks after first finding out was pregnant and as a matter of fact I expected to begin my period due to them before I took a pregnancy test. However, if they become more severe than a normal period and you begin to bleed, call the doctor.

Definitely normal. Just wait til those ligaments really start stretching. or when baby starts hanging out on your sciatic nerve!

You really do have to be careful about dehydration, especially the further along you get. When I was in trimesters 1 & 2, I stayed borderline dehydrated and it wasn't so bad. I got sick last week and was having some pretty intense contractions because I was so dehydrated. Gets a little painful.
