I am some where between 2 and 1, I can build a PC if I had the components, but I can also do some basic circuitry, also I have 18 months of studying software design under my belt - but I don't know enough to build an OS or any program worth its salt.

yeah, well, sort of. not only do you work with the computer systems of the navy; you also get to do linguistics. but they haven't even sent me off to boot camp yet.... sooo.... wish me luck?

and i said i was so so, cuz i've not much learned about programming; and i hardly could even rebuild the computer if i hadn't seen it done before! (my uncles are pc geeks too; and one is a programmer; i saw a computer get rebuilt one day in school when a friend of mine's dad did it.) otherwise i wouldn't know how!! but usually when i see something; it sticks.

I don't think being a 1 is possible. Computers are too sophisticated for any one person to know enough about to do all that.

I'm a programmer and I wouldn't classify myself as a 1; not even close.

I don't know half the things you are all talking about in here. . . I feel really dumb now when it comes to computers. Recently my DH showed me what "hot keys" were. LOL! you should have seen my reaction when he first mentioned "HOT KEY" I was like "what are those?" LOL!
