  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sounds like a bad driver on your video card or a bad video card (or motherboard failure if it's an integrated video card)....

I agree. If the monitor goes blank and it's power button turns orange, it's not getting a signal from the video card anymore. I would uninstall and reinstall your video drivers first. If that fails to work, you may be having a hardware problem. Try swapping the video card (if it's not integrated into the motherboard) with one that you know works. It could also be a power supply issue as Doc suggested. During game play your card will use a large amount of power, at this point it could overheat and turn itself off, or the powersupply isn't supplying enough power which messes the card up.

edit to add:

I really hope it was your video card overheating, not the CPU. If it was the CPU running at that temperature, you're probably lucky the CPU is still working and it probably is running at limited capacity. Due to a malfunctioing power supply, my old CPU overheated to around boiling point. After replacing the power supply, it still worked, but it was obviously messed up.
