  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Few real scientists refer to them thusly.
How do you know?
How many people have to die for the idea of a supernatural promised land?
That's an excellent question ... perhaps the answer is somewhere in Yasser Arafat's annals?

A better way to ask this is: How many people have to die before people wake up and realize that Israel is indeed the Promised Land? i.e., not, as you put it, just an idea ... but reality?

I'm going to stop [reading] right here, since my tolerance for lengthy posts to simple questions is low right now.

Bump for Aron and his awesome videos! They are actually what de-converted me!
Along with DonExodus2's videos.
I thought you said [people like] I deconverted you!?

Perhaps I'm confusing you with someone else?

How do you know?

Because I think I only hear people like you claiming that scientists say that. While I'm sure a few say stuff like that but it isn't in a scientific position.

A better way to ask this is: How many people have to die before people wake up and realize that Israel is indeed the Promised Land? i.e., not, as you put it, just an idea ... but reality?

If only God were powerful enough to step in and make it incontrovertible for everyone.

But until then I guess it's more blood!

Of course it is. Reading is hard.

If only the King James Bible was done as a graphic novel or cartoon!

Well we all know you won't "Arab Phone" what they're saying will you?
In doing a Google Search on this site for the phrase "ignorant bronze-age goat herders," the only postings I find are either you saying it, or someone Quoting you saying it.

As I said few scientists refer to them as that. I didn't say no scientist has ever said it.

I stand by my opinion.

You should probably realize that "scientist" in AV-speak means "anyone who says something I don't like". Rather than the normal definition of someone doing scientific research in a particular field. Even then, it probably requires you to ignore the context of the discussion, because "context of the discussion" in AV-speak generally also means "anyone who says something I don't like".

I'm sure it is something that it has been pointed out on this board more than once that the Jews in the bible knew a lot less about the world around them than we do nowadays. AV doesn't like that rather common sense fact.

Ohmygosh! Two people have said it! As long as there are only 3 scientists in the world you may be right!

And of course, to AV some people on a webforum is the equivalent of large swats of the population.

So every time AV says e-scientists said x, what you should read is "On this particular part of Christianforums, some of the participants who hold a position I don't like have said x."

Hope that clears things up for you.

Which loops right back to my original question: How do you know?

Have you asked each and every one?

Like I said, I'm not going to hunt up each and every one for the past seven years.

If you don't believe me -- big deal.

I have a feeling there's a lot I say you don't believe.

I'd be happy with you showing one accurate record of somebody saying it when are not quoting you saying it. I mean if theres soooo many of them it shouldn't be that hard.
