ive read the latter and the description of the former sounds exactly like the contents of the second. can someone tell me how they are different, which they like better and why? thanks a lot for whatever input!

I'm sorry, I've never even heard of him. Unfortunately, my income doesn't allow for book purchases so I'm a bit behind the times in that department.
I checked our sticky and found a listing for D. Juster but it was a third title, and not one of the two you're asking about.

My fellowship in Ohio had a library which I used constantly. The 2 little congregations here that I take part in don't have libraries yet. Hmmm, maybe I'll bring that up real soon.....

wow. tho i dont have the answers yet, it is nice to see replies. we are all in the same boat of not having the money to buy books really - i just borrow from the library and take advantage of the interlibrary loan service ^^

The libraries around here are very small and do not take advantage of the later writings put out by comtemporary authors in the religious section. They stick to the "tried and true" which I seriously question sometimes....
I have to admit that the internet has helped turn me into an "immediate" type person as far as information goes. By the time one of the little libraries could get the book in from a larger one, I've been able to get the info via the net and probably moved on to something else. At least the internet has helped save a bunch of wear and tear on the car and gas!

We're a pretty nice group of people. We'll come sit and wait with you till that person comes along with the answers you seek

You can get some books as e-books and there are many resources available online.

I'll get Steven to post some links cos he gets all ours.

I always check the Amazon used section or half.com. Just got a book "The New Rabbi" by Stephen Fried for one cent plus $3.98 for shipping. $4 and it's in excellent condition. We spend that much on a St. Arbucks!
