Community Service - Interested?

I know that all of the discussion has been taking place in the "trad" forum I just wanted to make all aware of a community service project that is still getting to its feet.

It all started somewhere in the middle of this thread:

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would anyone like to be involved? Are there possible roadblocks that anyone can see, and if so do you see any solutions?

Thank you for your input. Maybe the generic email will help people who would rather not share their real names and addresses. Thanks for the idea.

Can I interest anyone else in a little community service?

I know that any help would be greatly appreciated. And when we all come together it is an easy way to multiply the gift that is given.

Plus we get to look forward to see the result of giving - probably won't be until we get to Heaven, but hey that's okay!

Remember the Ray Boltz song "Thank You for Giving to the Lord" - what an awesome song. If you haven't heard this song look it up and listen to it. It will bring tears to your eyes.

You have to set up a paypal account first with a real email address. After the account is confirmed, you can then switch to a generic Yahoo, Hotmail...account...to protect your identity.

I volunteer at a YMCA shelter. There are alot of people that are in need of help. They might be strangers (even some we know here need help), but many of them have nowhere to turn. I know most of us are not wealthy but are still fortunate and blessed when compared to them.

I'll set up another link and post it in the main forum. You can give your charitable ideas and inputs.

It's fun to give knowing that you are going to make someone else's life just a little bit better. Even aside from the money itself is the knowledge for them that there is a God who cares and that He has sent his messengers to them with an "I Love You"!

Excellent post Honor. It does make a difference when a person realizes that there are others that care for them.
