  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Eeehh......Hawaii isn't exactly "Wine Country Of The World", much less anywhere in the U.S.

Believe it or not, we can't even order wine online. Strange as that may sound.

Yeah PA has restrictions too. Let me look and see if there is a local one for ya.

Thanks David.

Really appreciate it.

After a few min of research I need to say...you have strange wines in Hawaii :)

Guava blended wine.

Anywoo...Symphony http://www.diamondheadwinery.com/dhframeset.htmfrom Diamond head winery is close but not exactly the same. But it will be a close approximation. That particular version is Muscat (similar taste and sweetness) and is also crossed with my favorite grape the Grenache (though my Italian relatives would pass out as I compliment a French grape). :)

So although not strictly what we are talking about...likely a nice wine. It is on their page under white wines. If I come across anything more in line with traditional muscadine I'll let you know.

Yeah, I know. Don't know what some people were thinking when they created some of the wines here.

I'd stay away from the pineapple one if I were. Tried it once with a couple of friends. Let's just say......it didn't make the "Wine Of The Month" list.

Yes! The Duplin Winery. Great place...lovely wines. The next time y'all come to NC, David, you really need to go to the winery for a tour and tasting. The restaurant there is fabulous, too. :)

I'd send you a bottle or three, Ann, if I could. I've still got boxes of candy corn and saltwater taffy that I have yet to ship to some lovely people that have probably given up on me ever keeping my word. :o  :sorry:

Are you saying that Hawaii has a law against imported wines? Or that it's just illegal to send them in the mail? Because I know that Duplin has a membership thing where they ship you about six wine selections a month. My personal favorites are the Hatteras Red and the Christmas wine. :yum:

I have not had the Christmas one. I'll agree on Hatteras Red. I had that just again a few months ago.

The Christmas is a blend of the Hatteras red and another wine...can't remember which one right now...but it is very good. I almost like it better than the HR because it is not so overpoweringly sweet. :) Bit of trivia...on the bottle of the Christmas wine is a picture of Santa Claus holding 'the list'. The names on the list are the names of the family and employees that worked for the winery the year the Christmas wine first came out. Pretty cool.
