  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Often birth control works by making the person to sick to get pregnant. For me this kind of approach is insane. There are valid reasons why the Catholic church takes a stand against various approaches to birth control.

The first oral contraceptive was submitted first for regulatory approval in 1957 as a treatment for menstrual disorders and infertility, not as a contraceptive.
.. and no advances have been made after 1957.

I think you have been misinformed on how birth control works.

It's clear why you didn't post a link to a source or quote a scholarly, unbiased source for this claim because it's not true. Morning-after pills work by preventing ovulation, which thus prevents fertilization Emergency contraception - Wikipedia Are you under the impression that "the moment of conception" happens during or right after sex? It typically takes a day after ovulation Human fertilization - Wikipedia but that's based on the assumption that a woman is already ovulating at the time of sex -- the sperm hangs out for quite a while and often doesn't fertilize the egg until a week or so later. In either case, the "morning after" is too soon to be fertilized, and emergency contraception doesn't work after fertilization because there's no point in stopping ovulation after fertilization (which, in itself, stops further ovulation anyway).

Your argument is based on a misconception about how pregnancy works. It would be wise to educate yourself before trying to advance this argument -- I posted two good links here as my sources that will also do fine, but if you have access to a home encyclopedia or a sex ed textbook, those would be even better for catching up.

Are you serious and just deeply misinformed, or are you trying to get a rise out of people?

Unfortunately there are folks who believe "Life News" instead of real information. They're serious and misinformed.
