From the reviews of Amazon.com it appears that it was the production of fundy, dispy Baptist oriented groups.

i already have one of those from the 70's, the Open Bible in KJV. It was an excellent study bible for Fundy dispies and had far more useful references for all faith groups. i still have it, complete with colour coded underlined sections which dealt with various topics from my early apologetic work.

Since i use the 1599 Geneva Bible (with modern print), i've come to see that KJV simply does not appeal to me any more. Besides, Geneva was orientated more towards Puritans, and the 1611 KJV was produced as a measure to reduce it's influence.

What about the Reformation Heritage Bible or a leather bound Westminster? Man, you really wear out Bibles! It might be cheaper to buy hardcover editions.

Which...I'm thinking of doing soon. The Heritage Bible comes in a deluxe hardcover...i actually prefer hardback now.

Here is a hardcover deluxe edition I had my eye on....here.

For me, it's a sin issue so I limit myself from acquiring too many Bibles. I like to have the newest and latest and even covet some of the expensive Bibles on the market. I've had to limit my approach to buying them.

Yours in the Lord,

jm
