Just wanted to know what you guys thought of it. I thought it was ok, I will watch it again to see if holds my interest.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I wanted to watch it...but The Amazing Race won out...I may tape it next week to see if I like it well enough to continue to do so.

God heals and restores!
I didn't think I would like it as much as I did. I thought it was very well done and some of the lines really witty especially when they were giving the new first lady (the president's husband) his tour of duties. I usually like Geena Davis especially in the movie, A League of their Own, and Donald Sutherland is just plain excellent in his role as Speaker of the House. I don't see it as indicative of future events at all...just interesting fiction. I will check it out one more time before deciding if I want to watch it every week.

I kind of enjoyed it, but mainly for the acting. I feel much the same about this show as I did about Judging Amy - I feel it's attractive propaganda. Even though the President this character served under was supposedly a Republican, I feel that the whole reason for this show (and the reason it attracted heavyweights Sutherland and Davis) is to prepare the voting public to accept the idea of a female President -- namely Hillary Clinton. They made some main characters conservatives to ease in the idea and to make the main character sympathetic when staff members dissed her.

I find it interesting that Saudi Arabia can have a female president with the bias against women in some middle eatern minds, and yet this democratic America that is so focused on equality in many other ways, has a mental block against a woman as President.
I like how honest the show is when it comes to how people might react. Such as the staff person who would not work with her because she did not feel a woman should be president and the calling of her husband "first lady" in the first episode.

There is a nasty rumor floating around virtual space that there is an intention to put a man into the role of President "around February" at sweeps.
If they do, I will NOT be watching that episode. What I like about this is the whole idea of a woman in office.

talitha, thank you for your post. This is the reason why i wont watch the show. not due to a woman being president, but because i believe it is a ploy to get americans used to the idea of a woman pres for hilarys sake!

Yeah....I've heard there is this whole conspiracy theory that the show is just to help Hilary along in the next election. Making people think it would be just like it is on tv.

I don't agree with the whole "get Americans use to a woman in office to prepare them for H. Clinton running for president theory". That's a real stretch for me, after all the idea of a women in office is nothing new. I do like the show, the casting is great. Geena Davis and Donald Southerland I have always liked and was glad to see them appearing in a weekly tv show.
