Well, that's earth shattering for sure!
I see that on numerous internet sites there are claimed correlations between our (USA) treatment of Israel over the past three presidential administrations and disasters, upset weather, and economic woes. Some sites claim as many as ten or eleven such coincidences.
What do you think?
One thing is also clear: if these are indeed warnings, they are falling on deaf ears...
And, yes, most of it is not being put in the right perspective. We are losing God's protection, year by year. He has been gracious and not pulled it all away at one time, and it still remains to a degree. Will America see in time what's happening before it's too late? I sure pray so as we have many enemies who'd like to see, and even help, us crumble.
Post hoc, ergo propter hoc.
Originally, America agreed to stay out of the troubles of the Europe and the rest of the world. It was the Great War (WWI) that brought America into the international fighting game - and it is when she emerged as a great power. The perspective in America shifted greatly at that time, and it hasn't much changed since. Americans now see themselves as the greatest and as the guardian of the world.
Such situation is bound to change. It never lasts too long, even within a great power that has absolute control over other sovereignties (an empire).
Did the Romans think it was disfavor with the gods that led to their loss of power and status? Did they think their greatness for the hundreds of years during which they stood at the top was due to military prowess or to the gods granting of good fortune? I assure you, there were no gods leading the Romans as they held world domination, and disfavor with the gods did not lead to Rome's downfall. It was all political and military decision that led to Rome's loss of greatness - and forces beyond their control.
The same is true of America. While the world was content to be docile, America sat at the top. Political and military decisions have shaped how the world views the United States, and forces beyond America's control (the formation of nationalistic pride in the Middle East, the strength of the markets in the Far East, etc.) have tipped the balances away from America's favor. That's just how the cookie crumbles.
I am always interested in how people think that God has blessed and protected America all these years, when America was forged on robbery, slavery, forced conversion, murder and genocide. I can't imagine God having been its author. It's just hard for me. I love the founders' original conception of what America was supposed to be, but I don't think America lived up to it past the Thirteen Colonies.

Something else has happened over there in the Philippines...4 quakes hit Guatemala
Mount Tabora is rumbling in Indonesia; killed 90,000 in 1815, and also darkened the skies.
Notice the order of events.
Matthew 24:29-30; Immediately after the tribulation of those days(remember tribulation first to the Jew, then to the Gentiles) the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken:
30. "Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
I believe a GREAT EARTHQUAKE shall mark the parting of the way, and could very well darken the sun and the moon with volcanic ash.
