Does anyone here collect and read comic books?

I ahve been collecting for about 8 months now and want to know what other comic collecters and read feel about the characters and stories.

WHat comics have you subscribed to, which are your favorites?

WHat Graphic novels did you think were better than most books?
WHo is your favorite character?

I must say that i am a DC guy and still appreciate how great Marvel truely is.

But hey who cn beat the Teen Titans? or Batman: The Dark Night Returns?

DOes anyone have aclue what i am asking.

I'm into Concrete from Dark Horse. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's really different- intellectual, even deep. A nice guy trapped in an alien body trying to make his way in the world.

I also am reading the new Avengers.Great stuff- they are re-forming the team.

I, too, think "The Dark Knight Returns" was a masterpiece. My very favorite, though, is Daredevil's "Born Again". Pick it up- you won't be disappointed.

I have read the dark knight returns and read an awesome review of concrete.

Marvels was great, even with alex ross the writing was better than the art

Hubby does, and his favorite is Conan the Barbarian. He doesn't subscribe to any, just buys the old ones. He has about 10,000.

I used to be a big Marvel fan, but then I realized they are very arrogant--they think highly of themselves; I'm a DC fan now.

Used to collect Image comics. Ah, those were the days, for me anyways. Now, I'd probably get lost trying to follow up on things.

Looks like I missed all of the good stuff. My comic books consisted mostly of Donald Duck and Goofy.

Finally, an Archie fan! And I thought I was ALONE in the world! JingleJangle, you have GREAT taste!

However, I appreciate the newer stories as well as the older stories. The stories are just funny and CLEAN!

I've been getting the digests for the past several years, which combine a lot of the old stories with the new stories. There have been a few stories in the digests I have recognized out of the comic magazines I got when I was a kid in the '80s.

All the good hero's are green I'm a Gar Logan (aka-Beast Boy) from Teen Titans fan. Although where I live you really can't get comics for a 30 mile radius..... Any way.... I have read some of The origional Batman, Teen Titans, Doom Patrol, and a little of JLA.... Yeah I'm a DC fan but Marvel is not bad, read the x-men comic about a fight between Wolverine and Shadowcat, it was ok...

I read comic books but collecting them is rediculous because at anytime the company could rerelease the comic a billoion times over just to be a jerk about it

I collected comic books for 12 years. However, after college and coming to Christ, I've found that I don't have as much money as I'd like to spend on other things. I haven't bought a comic book in two years. Still, I miss reading comic books such as Spawn (very interesting twist on biblical topics) and the X-men.

I actually prefer Marvel over DC because of the advanced storylines & the variety of break-off comics, I had originally started when the first of the X-Men Classics started, but I also used to collect Archie's,Hotstuff's,Richy Rich & of course the All-star standard MAD Magazine

I used to collect like crazy, then I got bored of Marvel and DC so I stopped. About a year ago my friend introduced me to bunch of new comics. The first being scurvy dogs ( http://www.scurvy-dogs.com/ ) which was hillarious, ive been slowly getting back into some. I have read a bunch of the Ultimates collection, One series called "Sleepers" another called "Walking Dead", and a bunch of others. Lots to name.
