Thanks for bringing this up again LLHW! It was really nice when Gina did this.
Oh where to start.... where to start. LOL Really it's not that funny; what's so funny is I can immediately think of 1,001 prayer requests! I haven't decided if that's good or bad.

Lately I feel perplexed-- like I'm a dog frantically chasing it's tail tyring to understand and move forward the right way. Prayers for discernment would be fantastic and much more appreciated than I could ever express.

Good Afternoon Ladies...and gents. (I know there are some out there.) ::):

My prayer request is for a new ministry I am starting. The Lord has led me to start a Jr High girls small group. Please pray for open doors. That the girls and their parents would be willing to become involved. That the small group would thrive and would bear much fruit.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Christianna and LLHW I will keep you both in my prayers!! :prayer: What a great way to volunteer your time LLHW! I hope that your group thrives and keeps growing! Jr. High is such a tough time for girls, it's great that you can give them this opportunity!

What a wonderful idea to bring this topic back at least once a month! Prayer is one of the greatest things that we have - it is truly awesome. I'm sure I've mentioned before about my recently answered prayers. That my husband would 1-become baptized, 2-get more involved in church and church activities, and 3-become confirmed so that he will be a part of our church and can take part in communion. Over the past couple months, God has really answered my prayers! Nathan has met with my pastor and decided that he does want to be baptized - he joined a class group that will meet six times over the next couple months. This will allow him to become baptized and put him on the road to confirmation as well as becoming a member. I'm so happy for him! So, not that we need proof that prayers works - but this is definitely proof!

As for my prayer request, I have been praying for a long time now that we can start a family. I have had two miscarriages and at a doctor appointment last week, the doctor told me that my chances to becoming pregnant are not very high. He says it is definitely possible, and he thinks it will happen someday - but he said there are some things that will make it more difficult for me and it will definitely take time. I pray that it is in God's will for us to have children. I can't imagine life without them.
:prayer:
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!
Lord, I pray that jenrenee will be blessed with children and that as she and her husband try to conceive you would really bless this time, helping them by taking away any worry or stress connected with that or anything else.

Amen

I'd very much like prayer for my teacher training. I'm on another placement in another school for two weeks and I would like prayer that it is fruitful - that I would learn a lot and do well, and that I would help to bring the current head of religious studies closer to Jesus.

I'd also like prayer that I wil pass my teacher training course successfully.

Thank you

I know I'm a day late on this, but I do have a prayer request.
Lately, actually for quite awhile now, I've been frustrated in all areas of my life. I won't go into all the details here (some are on my blog--I haven't finished it yet though!). But my biggest one is not feeling as close to God as I used to. I've been kind of spiritually dry. I've been having a hard time reading the Bible and praying. I still do it, but I just don't have that 'fire' like I used to. I want it back.
And this is affecting all areas of my life.
So, just please pray that my relationship with God becomes stronger. I know if it does, the other areas will improve.

Father in Heaven, I lift my sister Maharg to you Lord and ask that you be with her during this placement over the next few weeks. I pray that the placement would be fruitful and she would have the opportunity to help the head of religious studies become closer to You. Encourage her and strengthen her Lord. In Jesus' name I pray ~Amen

Father in Heaven, I stand in the gap for Rosie today. She is lukewarm and wants to have a great passion for You. Lord, I ask that you pour unto her a great hunger for Your Word, a passion that drives her to seek You above all else and a love for You that burns deep within her soul. I thank you Father for what you are going to do. In Jesus' name I pray ~Amen

Holding On To Your Faith
By Micca Monda Campbell

“Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” (NIV)

I read a story about a little girl who was very nervous at the prospect of her first horseback ride, even though she was to be perched behind her grandfather who was an excellent rider. As her parents helped her onto the horse, she cried, “What do I do? I don’t know how to ride a horse! I’ve never done this before! What do I do?”

Her grandfather said in a reassuring tone, “Don’t worry about the horse or about how to ride it. Just hold on to me, Darlin’, just hold on to me.”

This story reminds me of the familiar saying, “When you’re at the end of the rope, hold onto your faith.” That’s easier said than done unless you realize that the object of your faith is a person—Jesus Christ. We always can hold onto Him.
It’s when we lose touch with the Lord that we fall into fear and panic, but keeping our minds on Him in thought, prayer, and worship brings peace to our hearts and minds. Most of us have sung about this truth. Today let the words of this old faithful hymn sink deep into your soul.

What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and grief to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

We must grip tightly to our faith in Christ through prayer and mediation on a daily basis Then, whether our day is like a tried old nag or a bucking –bronco, holding on to our faith keeps us in the saddle until the ride is over. However, if we look to ourselves or at the “beast,” whatever that may be, then we will always feel weak, helpless, and afraid.

Like the grandfather, who was an excellent rider, our heavenly Father is even greater. Christ has both hands on the reins. He knows how to ride, which direction the horse will run, and how long the journey will last. All we have to do is hold on.

Dear Lord, No matter how wild the ride gets, I trust that You are in control and I’m safe holding on to You, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Reflections:
What do you put your faith in—a friend, a family member, yourself or Christ?

Who is holding the reins of your life, you or Christ?

How often do you talk to Jesus in prayer about your burdens, heartaches, or trials?

Power Verses:
Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in Him.” (KJV)

Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” NIV

Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” NIV

John 14:1, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” NIV

The reflections question: Who do you put your faith in, really caused me to think long and hard. I would say I put about 90% of my faith into God, yet I reserve the 10% for faith in myself. That 10% would definitely be my stronghold onto keeping things in my control. Although I trust and whole-heatedly believe He knows best, I still have not successfully turned everything over to God.

And that most certainly intermingles with the following question about who holds the reigns. I do believe I allow Christ to hold the reigns, but I like to put my hand on them too... for added security. I don't know why I do that because eventually, be it hours or days, I realize my hands don't belong there, and I remove them.

I very frequently talk to Him about my burdens, headaches and trials. It's very comforting even at times when I can't hear Him or refuse to listen to Him, at least I know He's there and listening.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus: That is my favorite hymn - maybe even my favorite song of all time!! :) If we could just live by those words and give everything to the Lord, oh how easy things would be for us! The Lord offers to carry all of our burdens and troubles for us - we only have to listen to Him and give Him these things - how wonderful is that?
What do you put your faith in—a friend, a family member, yourself or Christ?
I put a lot of my faith in Christ. After all, He is the only One that I can truly count on - He is the only One that I know will be there for me. Yes, I also put faith in myself and my family - and they are there for me too - but no matter how much they care for me or do for me, no one can measure up to the Lord and His unconditional love for me.
Who is holding the reins of your life, you or Christ?
I do admit that I need to put just a little more faith in Christ though, as He is there, willing to take all my troubles - or another way to put it - He will take my broken heart and fix it, but I must give Him all of the pieces first. If I want help from the Lord, I must be willing to give Him all my troubles and allow Him to take them from me. Christianna's words were perfect: I have given the reigns over to Christ, but I have not let go of them myself yet.
How often do you talk to Jesus in prayer about your burdens, heartaches, or trials?
I talk to Jesus constantly - all throughout the day. It's what helps to get me through the day. At work, especcially in my car on the way home from work, and other various times. I have things going on in my life that are constantly on my mind. They pop up at various times during the day and I have to stop and ask the Lord for help to get through - and not to let these worries control my day. As the hymn says - He will take these burdens from me - I just have to give them to Him. So, yes, I do pray all the time. The one thing I do need to remember is that I must also constantly give praise for all the blessings that the Lord has given me throughout the day. I try - but sometimes, the trials seem like they are outnumbering everything else. Great topic today! :)

Oh, now this is really an introspective query
and thus is my own looking at my life
part A:
my faith can only be in Jesus's FAITH that the Father would Raise him on the third day after His sacrifice.
There is no way I can compare to that. I saw the late Dr. Scott use the word as Faithing- to make it an action that must be continually performed- That is more of the way I need it to work for me - ongoing.
Part B.
This is the part that is hardest. I try to follow what is scripturally sound. But I have My own little faults that satan can use so seductively that if I let my Shield of faith fall to my side he ambushes and distracts and entices so I make those wrong decissions. The good part though is that the Spirit quickly convicts me of those faults and failures and brings me into a knowledge that I must repent and let Jesus lead me again.
Part C.
This is also an ongoing battle, I awake and give my thanks and requests for the day for guidance and strength. then as the day goes by it is those little things again that can bring failure that I must remember to refresh my requests. If the attack is so strong and sudden I try to handle it on my own without giving it over to Jesus. I find that is the time I need to talk with Him most and don't. But once again I remember that I am faithing- that ongoing wanting to walk by Him- that brings calming peace once I do give Him my cares and burdens.
So to close my comments I think of 1 John 2:1 to reassure me in my repentance,
