I'm pulling this up here from D&D so we can discuss it.
Look at this verse......Luke 24:44 And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.
He was the unblemished Lamb, the firstfruits, and the promised Messiah that would die for the sins of the world and then rise again on the third day. He fulfilled all things concerning HIM. All things that pointed to Him were most definitely fulfilled. He became our Passover...etc.
In Colossians 2 the only thing mentioned being nailed to the cross with Him is the handwriting of ordinances .everything pointing to Christ was nailed to the cross with Him, fulfilled.
How can anyone say the Sabbath pointed to Him (Colossians certainly doesnt say it)? He kept the Sabbath commandment Himself and fought the Pharisees quite vehemently about their unbiblical restrictions on Gods holy day. Why would He do that if that one commandment was going to die with Him a short time later?
If anyone thinks Colossians 2:17 says the SABBATH was nailed to the cross (which it does not say), then they will have to say that food and drink were nailed to it too.
There is absolutely no distinction from the meat and drink in that verse from the other meat (food) and drink mentioned in other parts of scripture. Food was not nailed to the cross.
Which are a shadow of things to come . Christ had already died on the cross when Paul wrote Colossians! Paul tells us that we shouldn't let any MAN judge us for the Sabbath day.
If you have an online bible, look up that verse (Col 2:17). Notice that are is present tense!! Christ had already been nailed to the cross, yet those things were still around after the cross and Paul said they are now a shadow of things to COME.
The things to come werent Christs first coming and being nailed to the cross. He had already been here and done that!
