Color or Colour?

LOL, I spell it color, so I'm sure someone is going to claim I'm not a true KJVO because i don't use old English.

That's exactly the first thing I would have pointed out! lol... not really

Color, not so much because i prefer the American spelling, its just one letter less I have to hunt and peck for on the keyboard.

both work fine, just depends on the area you live in. Just like tomato tomato, umm, well you get what I mean (i cant really pronounce the same word differently through typing! lol)

Depends. If my writing going to be read by Canadians only (i.e. on my school assignments when I was still in school), it's "colour"; if my writing is going to be read by an American majority audience, then it's "color" (i.e. message boards like this one).

I usually spell it colour but sometimes I use the other spelling. It all depends what I am doing and if I am in a hurry.

I'm for colour. The Americans used to spell colour like we do too untill Mr. Webster decided to make his dictionary along with his new American language. Part of that was to drop the "u"s in things, and other oddities .
Maybe useless, I'm not deriding it, it's just fun to apply info learned in lectures @ school

I say colour... but when i was younger and i would do spelling tests... most little kids sound out words... so i sounded it out color and i remember my teacher getting really mad because i was spelling it the "american" way :S

Colour... But then it depends what I am writting and who it is for... if it a personal letter from me to someone then I use the Canadian spelling, but if I am translating a letter into English for someone then it is Color...
I guess it depends for me, but most of the time it is colour

I know Canadians are supposed to put the 'u' in colour, neighbour, etc.

I agree that Canadians should be spelling it with a u. That is how we spell it here. I always spell my words with a u, in those types of situations. It justs comes naturally. That's how I was taught and any other way looks funny.
