Color or Colour?

Colour. Despite what my American spell check wants to tell me.

I try to spell it Colour. If the American spell check highlights it I keep it as it is.

Proud to be Canadian.

I'm for colour. The Americans used to spell colour like we do too untill Mr. Webster decided to make his dictionary along with his new American language. Part of that was to drop the "u"s in things, and other oddities .
Maybe useless, I'm not deriding it, it's just fun to apply info learned in lectures @ school

Correction; before Webster, the color and colour were interchangeable in British English. So why did the British drop color when Webster adopted it? Political statement? Maybe something along the lines of 'freedom fries'?

Seeing that I've been living here in the States for the past four years, I've pretty much gotten used to spelling it color. When you're in America, do as the Americans do!
