  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

As of now I am NOT going to go to college, but if I decide to 2-3 years down the road at a 2 yr comunity college would they take me? I gradated high school in May of this year and got a Modified Standerd Diploma which means that I didnt meet all of the gradaton requirmints including passing grade levle state tests. I am disabled and I am on the levle of a 10-11 year old....so if I couldnt pass high school tests that means I couldnt pass college tests. Im 98% sure I am NOT going to go to college even in 2-3 years but I am just asking just but the slitest 2% that I decide to go to college.

Thanks.

Most community colleges have entrance exams for people in your situation that tell you which courses are the best for you to take. I'm not too sure what a Modified Standard Diploma will get you but they look at a lot of other things too. Have you considered taking the GED? That also might help.

Lots of people every year go to college who have the same background as you. If you want to go to college and feel like that's where God is leading you don't let anything satan tries to put in your way stop you. Just remember, you can do anything through Christ who gives you strength!

If you decide to go, they will give you entrance tests to place you in the appropriate math, English, and reading courses to catch you up if you need it. They'll also tell you if you lack any of the required high school courses and tell you how to make them up. Also, there are services available to you as a disabled student that can help you alot. You could be able to get free tutoring (I tutored disabled students one semester), someone to take notes for you, or extra time to take exams, just to name a few.

A friend of mine got a high school equivilancy diploma but still had to get his GED if he ever wanted to go to college...when you mentioned your Modified Standard Diploma that just reminded me of my friend. It could be something completely different and I'm definitely not the expert! :D
