• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't drink. I don't curse. I don't smoke. I don't do all drugs at any kind.

Every Friday I sometimes go to a mostly all Korean college group, but I hate everyone there.

My room mates have soft core porn magazines around.

And i'm not allowed to bring my dog.

Geez. The entire point of this thread is be thankful you are not me, and for me to be thankful that I am not you.

See ya.

I was in a very similar situation my freshman year of college and I know what you're going through! My roommate and his friends would draw obscene pictures on my side of the room with duct tape and almost bagged me to go to parties and get drunk with them EVERY DAY. And like you said, my roommate had soft core porn taped up on every inch of wall space in our room. I couldn't do anything to get away from it, except plaster airplane pictures and Bible verses everywhere in my room. I got a ton of garbage for having all of that up.

Don't get down on yourself for not giving in to that other garbage! (Yes, I know how much easier it is to say than to do) Have confidence and pride in the strength that you have to not do that stuff.

There are all kinds of fun things to do... one thing my girlfriend and I would do was spray passers by with my squirt gun from my dorm window on the third floor... it was GREAT fun! Not for the people below, but hey, it wsan't drinking, having sex, getting stoned, or looking at porn. lol Sometimes drastic times call for drastic measures... this was one of 'em.

Any other groups you may want to look into? Colleges usually have tons of groups.

I'm going to do what I do best, and think and assume and draw tons of bogus connections between obscure things in response to Billy Batson. What I also do best is ignore all posts except ones that make me beat my chest and stand on a soap box. Oh well.

By the way, as for smoking I didn't quite mean ciggies. I meant drugs society, at this time, has seen unfit for common use, and have branded "ILLEGAL". Such as weed. Times may change of course, but at present, going into a room with a bong going around isn't very settlings.

Well Billy Batson, if you can do that and have fun, that is fantastic. However, for unknown reasons, perhaps the cumulative effects of growing up in my environment along with a trillion other random factors and variables (either learned or born in), as well as God,

I
don't quite enjoy drinking smoking or cursing. Unfortunately I found in an unscientific survey that 99.99% of college students at the University of Florida do either one of the three, or more.

This, of course, is a problem, and begs for questions to be asked. For many reasons.

1) I'm pushing being overly judgemental and squeezing in my morals all at once.
2) What is the true nature of drinking cursing smoking? Am I overreacting.
3) Is handling these sorts of issues just plain growing up?

This is what happens when worlds collide. Ever listen to that song? Its pretty interesting.

Any way I know nothing, and I thank God that you are not me, and I am not you. Or else who would we be? Pain and suffering, pleasure and joy, I am you, and you are me.

In the end, I'll have a laugh at my college days. Bloody! When i'm dead in Heaven we'll all share a good laugh.

But at the moment lets just leave this post in this state:

I don't really give a deuce on the nature of whether things are good or evil, or bad. Everyone thinks different things and unless you are double deuced, you won't change.

But if you want to give me a high five, here we go!

*HIGH FIVE!*

it is part of growing up, you most likely will have to deal with all or some of these in whatever job you find yourself in. Save for working at a church, hopefully.
