The new X & Y album sounds great, but, gosh, the lyrics are so idiotic! It sounds like a middle school student trying to be all deep and existential. Can someone get this guy a lyric writer?

What is "Travis"? Do you mean to say that they actually were a U2 tribute band? They do sound quite a bit like U2 -- with the falsetto singing, the electric guitar echo loop and quite a bit of piano. It reminds of U2 from the "War" and "Unforgettable Fire" days, but not quite as good, and a little bit more bubblegum and cotton candy.

I recommend picking up The Man Who should you ever see it in a Used CD store. It's quite a good CD.

In any case, what I meant was Coldplay started out musing Travis and then ended up sounding like an English U2. Except Chris Martin is far more insane than Bono.

i think clodplay are very boaring live.I do like their new one "fix you" though.I use to like them alot more.

I think Coldplay would be alright if they took more risks and stopped trying to achieve a particular sound.
Sposedly, they're going to incorporate some different elements on their new album (yea, Martin is already talking about a new album) so we'll see how that goes.

I agree. I think the early albums are pretty good, and the new one isn't that bad. Chris Martin seems like the kinda guy who would shun major success, so I think they might have a very different album next time around.
