Is it colder than usual this winter? It is -13 degrees where I live. I cannot seem to warm up my apartment no matter how much heat I try to put on. It is driving me nuts.

At -13, man, I seriously hope you're all right. I don't see how anyone can survive that if they've got nothing bigger than a space heater in their homes (that's how I remember living in both rent homes I had during college - landlord was an unshakable believer in window units and buying your own space heater only to survive the seasons =/ ).

Oh wow it is also -13°F here where I am as well although it's normal for my area to be very cold this time of year. I hope you are able to stay warm enough!!! It's awful when an apartment isn't well equipped for the cold!!

It is heading towards colder than normal for this time of year here hopefully it isn't a sign of a harsh winter ahead but since we had some record highs earlier in the week in the 70s I think it doesn't surprise me that this front is so cold it has to be a powerful one to push temps way up ahead of it.

It is heading towards colder than normal for this time of year here hopefully it isn't a sign of a harsh winter ahead but since we had some record highs earlier in the week in the 70s I think it doesn't surprise me that this front is so cold it has to be a powerful one to push temps way up ahead of it.

Winters here have been trending warmer. We'd still have a few weeks of brutal cold and a few snow storms, but still trend above average. Usually January has been on the warmer side, but January so far looks to be very cold with temps in the teens coming. Hopefully that means Feb will be warm.
