bobryan,

1. I believe that the moral laws of the Ten Commandments are in the New Covenant and are just as valid today just as much as they were in the age of the Mosaic law which was the Old covenant

Good news!

So then you accept - rather than reject - the teaching of Christ in Mark 7:6-13?

Mark 7

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the Commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

James 2
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture,You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by THE Law as transgressors.
10 For whoever shall keep the whole Law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of THE Law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

It based on "He who said"

Eph 6:2
2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:

Ten Commandments spoken by Christ at Sinai - Ex 20. Heb 8:6-10

3. The Old and new covenants are two separate and different covenants and two different contexts.
All the commandments were laws with penalties if it was broken.
The moral laws are still in effect under the new covenant but no same specific penaties as the Old covenant which were a part of the civil law.

The TEN Commandments are in the moral LAW of God - all TEN as even your own pro-sunday scholars will admit.

Rebellion against the Word of God is sin.

"SIN IS transgression of the LAW" 1 John 3:4 - even in the NT

True because CHRIST said it - not me.

"Sabbath was MADE for mankind and not MANKIND MADE for the Sabbath" Mark 2:27.

Speaking to the "making" of both - in Creation week. -- irrefutable.

Jewish Sabbath given to mankind - in your own doctrine? Was all mankind at Sinai or do you also deny that part of scripture as well?

Turns out your efforts to delete scripture do not work at that point.

God's Word: - "the 7th day is the Sabbath of the LORD Thy God"

Man made tradition: Jerry Kelso "Christ arose on which was Sunday and gives freedom for any day to be observed as sabbath"

God's Word: - "the 7th day is the Sabbath of the LORD Thy God"

Man made tradition: Jerry Kelso "Christ arose on which was Sunday and gives freedom for any day to be observed as sabbath"

===

Genesis 2:1
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Ex 20
11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

bobryan,

1. We agree on keeping the sabbath holy.
2. You think the sabbath for man and mankind started at creation.
Because of it it cannot be changed and that is why you don't believe the creation Seventh day could be a shadow of the Jewish sabbath or that Jewish sabbath was a shadow of the new covenant through the firstfruits of the resurrection.
Revelation 1:10 God honored Sunday worship.
God honored worship on many sundays in the Old covenant (2 Chronicles 7:10; 29:17; Ezra 3:6; Nehemiah 8:14-18. Hint: "EIGHTH DAY" a solemn assembly, sanctifying the house of the Lord, first day offering burnt offerings and keeping the feast seven days and on the eighth a solemn assembly. Hint: resurrection eight day and forsake not the assembling of yourselves. Hint:paul to the new covenant believers to the church. Jerry kelso

If the Sabbath didn't matter, and/or it was changed, Paul would have made mention of it in Acts when he stood up in the synagogue to read to the Jews AND the Gentiles came to him and he stood up to read for them also fir several Sabbaths afterward. The WHOLE TOWN came and heard him preach Christ on the Sabbath to ALL. I'm assuming that the Jews, being the way they were, steeped in tradition, didn't want the Gentiles near them, especially in church, but Paul most likely gave them their own service ON Sabbath after the Jews left. IF it was to be changed by anyone other than Rome, it would've happened right then and there. Jerry, you said Bob was pushing a man made doctrine- Sabbath worship, when all the scripture leads to it being the seventh day of the week. What in the world isn't man made about a holy day made by pagan Rome on the pagan day by the fish mitre wearing pagan priests? Constantine only changed it for political reasons, not biblical. Rome kept it because of the traditions of men (and due to their role in the big picture). The earth is round and you are going all the way around it and still jumping off the same man-made cliff. You may say that you can choose any day to keep you want, and that's a fact because there are doors open every Sunday all over the world, by daughters of the great harlott, who still keep the pagan festivals of Easter and Christmas too. They're all pagan holidays- including Sunday rest, just with Jesus thrown in, just like all the statues in Rome are pagan ones, just renamed. All the evidence is overwhelming, but you fight it and refuse to see it because it's how you were raised. Most of us were and still don't know the difference. That doesn't make it right. It's no different than being loyal to the north or south during the civil war because you happened to live in a certain area and were raised that way. You didn't know what you were doing was wrong if you grew up in the south, until someone told you. And millions still didn't buy it, but it didn't make the fact that is was wrong or right any different in their eyes. Just how far will Rome have to go THIS round before you see what's really going on? When your neighbor's church caves? When yours does? They've made MOST of the Protestant churches so close now, without the little gold and white dresses, it's hard to tell them apart. Believing the Sabbath isn't the Sabbath will just make the transition go smoother. Do you not believe Rome is sucking them all back in, one by one? The time is coming, and it's not very far off, that Rome will tell YOUR church that you can't keep HER Sabbath unless you join her! According to scripture, they will even pass laws on it. Its already happening in Protestant churches now. 3 major ones already- TOAST. They ALREADY meet with the UN a couple or 3 times a year to seriously discuss it. There are things already in place in Germany in their ORTHODOX Protestant church where it's illegal to preach certain things about Jesus. Things your church preaches. Things that our church preaches. Things that their church preached only a couple of years ago. It's a problem and it's heading this way. When the pope meets with OUR Congress, twice, it's not to sell fruit cakes. It's to get legislation passed that gives church control (or influence at first) in STATE matters. The ONE thing that was guaranteed never to happen. Our Constitution is written on a chalkboard now. The papacy is attacking climate justice with the gloves off. Why? They are trying to pass a worldwide day of rest for the "environment". To give ol mother earth a break. They'll eventually do it too. Do you have ANY idea what day that will be? The man made Sabbath for the man made religion with a miry clay hat on it. The SAME one that will be at the head of this ecumenical movement AND the one who heads up the spiritual exercise program called spiritual formation. If you choose to ignore what they've done in the past AND what they're doing now AND how it will affect you AND what the deciding factor will be between THEM and ALL OTHER religions, you're a lost ball in high weeds. You refuse the scripture, the history, their documentation of a worldwide plan and what's happening today that's NOT hidden from plain sight. Imagine what is that you don't even know about yet. Look at how the past presidency has demonized anyone that speaks out about anything that may hurt someone's feelings OR go against their religious beliefs. Its the same way with the paleostinians .You think it just happened to be by chance it's happened? Why all the Islamic sympathy when they state they'll kill every Jew and Christian they can, yet they let em all, by force, into any country and demonize anyone that speaks out about it? The papacy is behind it. You can read it in their statements. They want the Muslims and Protestants into a war. They'll come out looking like the good guys because their in bed with BOTH. It's straight Jesuit operating procedure- period. It's all going to be about Sabbath worship. God's or man's. How far will it all have to go before you see it? Remember that I told you, soon, they'll be telling YOUR church that you are violating THEIR Sabbath. Believe it. They've already said that their can BE NO RECONCILIATION with any Sabbath keeping SDAs.... PERIOD. THEY say this. So you can just keep on keeping on doing Rome service while they sit back and laugh about it. They changed it and their BEST scholars they have say there's no scriptural grounds for the change, only their "ecclesiastical authority and tradition. Know what....they're right- on the tradition part. You may want to rethink some of this without prejudice. It's hard to. Old habits die hard, but all this stuff is very very real. If you think your church and your freedoms are exempt, think again.

Such a blatent falsehood... please provide scripture that states that the "Lord's day" is the first day of the week?

I can show you where Jesus said He was the Lord of the 7th day Sabbath... making it the Lords day.

You must have played alot of Bible Twister when you were growing up to be able to make statements like that.

Acts 13 is where Paul would've declared a different Sabbath when he also taught the Gentiles for WEEKS on the Sabbath. But LO AND BEHOLD.....in case no one has read it.

.

sabbathkeeper&wife,

1. We both celebrate sabbath; bob on saturday and I on any day.

2. Deliverance for Israel was on the sabbath just like Christ arose. Deuteronomy 5:15; John 20:1

3. Hosea 2:11; feasts and sabbath days, new moons and stolen feasts. Those were a part of the Mosaic law.
2 Corinthians 3:13 the Mosaic law was abolished.

4. God honored many sunday worship days in the old covenant days; 2Chronicles 7:9-10; 29:17; Ezra 3:6; Nehemiah 8:14-18. Eighth day solemn assembly. Pentecost was on the feast of the firstfruits which typified resurrection. 3000 souls were saved on the first day of the week. God blessed the early church daily Acts 1:12-15;2:1;41-47.
The lord's manifestation to the disciples after the resurrection was on the first day of the week John 20:19 was the second first day of the week.
There is nowhere Christ gave recognition to the Old Seventh day sabbath of the Jews after his resurrection.
This is scripture disproving your doctrine so give into this truth of the word. Jerry kelso

eastcoastremnant,

1. The first two times Jesus appeared to the disciples was on the first day, the second was in John 20:19.
The Day of Pentecost was on the first day of the week because it fell on the 50th day after the feast of firstfruits. 3000 were saved on the first day of the week. The church was added to daily Acts 1:12-15; 2:1; 41-47.
Sunday solemn assembly were in the age of law on the eighth day 2 Chronicles 7:9-10; 29:17; Ezra 3:6; Nehemiah 8:14-18.

2. The only time Christ mentioned or kept the seventh day Jewish sabbath was in his earthly ministry which was under the old dispensation of the Mosaic law.

...the sabbath for man and mankind started at creation.
Because of it it cannot be changed and that is why you don't believe the creation Seventh day could be a shadow of the Jewish sabbath or that Jewish sabbath was a shadow of the new covenant through the firstfruits of the resurrection.

<<...the sabbath for man and mankind started at creation.>>

The Sabbath did not <<start at creation>>. The Sabbath was "The Seventh Day" the first day after "the Sixth Day God had made everything", "which He had made", "in six days: heaven and earth and all."
I believe the Sabbath began "in the evening cool of day" after the Sixth Day. It was "the Sabbath made for man" which Jesus "the Son of Man is Lord of"--STILL, FOR NO REASON OR PURPOSE OTHER THAN "FOR", THE SALVATION: OF "MAN".
That's why
<<it cannot be changed>>-- it in Jesus' time, HAD to be the SAME "Seventh Day God...", "in the beginning", "...thus concerning spake, And God the day The Seventh Day from all his works Rested"; rested in Christ; rested in Christ in having "revived" and "raised" Him up from the dead, "ON THE SABBATH OF THE LORD".

And that is why the Seventh Day from the beginning has through Jesus' day, been a shadow of the New Covenant and the New Creation by which Jesus Christ would far in the future become "First Sheaf of the firstfruits" <<of the resurrection>>. Amen!

Now your <<old covenant>> is good enough to prove your hallucination of a surrealistic <<"EIGHTH DAY">>.

gerhard ebersoehn,

1. I wasn't saying the seventh day wasn't a sabbath but the term is not used in Genesis and is not scripturally used or implied before or after the seventh day so your cool of the day is just mere conjecture and opinion.

2. The profession of rest is the main point of creation as God's rest from his work Genesis 2:2, rest for Israel commemorating freedom from Egyptian slavery and by the Red Sea Deliverance Deuteronomy 5:15.
The rest for the new covenant is in the finished work of Christ.
Rest is the focus ever since creation and not just one specific day.

3. 1 Chronicles 7:9-10; Ezra 3:6; Nehemiah 8:14-18 shows the Jews had solemn assembly of worship on the eighth day.
The first and second visits of the Lord to his disciples were on the first day and so was Pentecost and the 3000 saved and blessing and adding to the church daily shows first to eighth day.
Gentiles were preached the gospel on the first day of the week. Acts 1:46: And they, continuing "Daily" with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.
Under Moses law they were punished if they didn't keep it.
In the new covenant they were unified and there is no mention of punishment for not celebrating the 7th day or Jewish sabbath.
Jesus was in the grave on the seventh day not arose on the eighth or first day of the week.
God is not the God of the dead but the God of the living. Are you dead or alive? Jerry Kelso

Because God said it did not just in Genesis 2:1-3 but also in Exodus 20:11 speaking of Genesis 2 and also in Mark 2:27 speaking of the "making of BOTH" mankind and the 7th day Sabbath of creation.

And because I take Mark 7:6-13 seriously.

"You think the sabbath for man and mankind started at creation."

So does D.L. Mood, R.C. Sproul, C.H. Spurgeon, Baptist Confession of Faith, Westminster Confession of Faith, the Bible, ...

But like all of the world - all mankind -- you have free will - you can ignore this Bible detail if you wish.

Jewish sabbath was a shadow of the new covenant through the firstfruits of the resurrection.
Revelation 1:10 God honored Sunday worship.

Indeed that is totally made up -- Rev 1:10 never mentions week-day-1 or Sunday worship - and we both know it. That is simply a fact of life not a preference.

God honored worship on many sundays in the Old covenant (2 Chronicles 7:10; 29:17; Ezra 3:6; Nehemiah 8:14-18.

Not even one of which point to a weekly observance of week-day-1. And we both know it.

But you have free will - if you want to oppose the Sabbath commandment based on no Bible text at all - the choice is left to do as you wish.

I wasn't saying the seventh day wasn't a sabbath but the term is not used in Genesis and is not scripturally used or implied before or after the seventh day so your cool of the day is just mere conjecture and opinion.

Your conjecturing fits and applies to only your conjecturing. Your conjecturing is mere conjecturing. Your conjecturing is not scripturally used or implied. Cool fact!

In answer to your conjecturing, read post #63 which you considered not worth reading, before your conjecturing; and read the realities in the Scriptures which you consider not worth reading from the Scriptures itself. Read the realities "CONCERNING THE SEVENTH DAY GOD THUS SPAKE", from Genesis to this very day.

Be friendly invited to quote only one similar Scripture concerning Sunday or an 'eighth day'.

The profession of rest is the main point of creation as God's rest from his work Genesis 2:2,

Now this is an interesting statement! What about the <<profession of rest>> is the <<main point>> of the "Seventh Day" the main point of God's "speaking concerning the DAY, the Seventh Day" Genesis 2:2-3 Hebrews 4:4 -- and NOT concerning <<creation>>, and that, according to you, <<creation as God's rest from his work>>!! What absurdity!

But you want us to take you seriously???

The profession of rest is the main point of creation as God's rest from his work Genesis 2:2, rest for Israel commemorating freedom from Egyptian slavery and by the Red Sea Deliverance Deuteronomy 5:15.

TWO recordings, Deuteronomy relating Israel's redemption; and Genesis 2:2,3, 3:8-24 -- NOT about <<The profession of rest ... the main point of _creation_ as God's rest from his work>>, but of God's Salvation "Rest" as the main point of, in, and "as the result of" / "relating to" ['apo'] "God's work by the exceeding greatness of his power wrought in Christ -- God's work through Christ PROLEPTICALLY as through his Resurrection from the dead, in blessing the Seventh Day, in hallowing the Seventh Day, in finishing on the Seventh Day, and finally in RESTING the main point in "ALL the works of God...on / of / relating / concerning the Seventh Day".

gerhardebersoehn,

You have not rebutted the scriptures I gave.
Your position is the sabbath is Saturday only for worship and no work.
I showed the scriptures that the the Jews offered burnt offerings and traveled on sabbaths and had solemn assembly which ha so to do with worship on the eighth day.
Tell me how you can be blessed more on Saturday than I can on Sunday. You have about one answer which would be a crutch. Go. Jerry kelso

The rest for the new covenant is in the finished work of Christ.
Rest is the focus ever since creation and not just one specific day.

In the Scriptures though, specifically in the relevant Scriptures, Genesis and other Seventh Day Sabbath Scriptures, more specifically in Genesis 2 and 3, the "rest" "concerning spoken" of, was the rest of God, rejected and sinned against by man. Ever since, man only knows and experiences the unrest his false oath of faithfulness and betrayal of the trust of God's Eternal New Covenant of Grace IN CHRIST has brought upon him.

The New Covenant is Christ's only, finished work of Redemption -- from the first Seventh Day at the creation, and ever since. Not just one specific day at the creation, but ever since the creation, "the day The Seventh Day God thus concerning spake ... by the Son ... in these Last Days", has been "the day The Seventh Day : Sabbath--Rest-Day OF: THE LORD GOD."

All that remains now is the question, Why can't it be "the Sabbath-Rest-Day..." of "...your LORD GOD"? Of "my Lord and my God" (as Thomas called our Lord)? And as Jesus said, "Now My God and your God ... now My Father and, your Father!"

God never rested from, or due to, works like creating and maintaining his creation. In the Fourth Commandment IT IS WRITTEN, "God rested...THEREFORE..." because God "rested", "...THEREFORE the Seventh Day is the Sabbath OF THE LORD GOD" and is it the Sabbath, Day of, the LORD GOD'S REST on it.

I know THIS is not SDA doctrine or the doctrine and truth of anyone else. Least is it my doctrine. It is the doctrine and truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ yesterday today and forever "THE SAME".
