Introducing Cognify, the prison of the future. This facility is designed to treat criminals like patients. Instead of spending years in an actual prison cell, prisoners could finish their sentence here in just a few minutes. Cognify could someday create and implant artificial memories directly into the prisoner’s brain. It could offer a new approach to criminal rehabilitation, transforming how society deals with offenders by focusing on rehabilitation rather than punishment.

IMG_0392.jpeg

The prisoner undergoes a high-resolution brain scan to create a detailed map of their neural pathway.

IMG_0393.jpeg

Although the procedure would only take a few minutes, time would pass differently in the criminal’s mind as they would experience “years of memories.”

These memories would be tailored to each prisoner, according to the crimes they’ve committed and their psychological profile. For instance, violent criminals would be forced to see their actions from their victim’s perspective and feel the pain and suffering they’ve caused firsthand. Some memories would even be designed to implement permanent trauma in the criminal’s mind.

IMG_0395.jpeg

Cognify could modulate neurotransmitters and hormones to induce specific emotional states, such as remorse or regrets.
Later in the video, the narrator says that Cognify could treat a wide range of crimes, such as “hate crimes and discrimination.

IMG_0394.jpeg

The video then explains how the AI-driven system could collect massive amounts of data from inmates and gather them in a central computer to “prevent crimes.”

Who Created This? Hashem Al-Ghaili, a Germany-based scientist.

What else is he known for? Ectolife Concept: An artificial womb that creates custom babies.

One could wright a book about all the wrongs of this , but there would also be those who think this is a great idea , especially if it works for them and what they want and believe , religion and politics comes to mind.

All we need is a draconian Gov , change a few laws and hey presto , send people in as christians and they come out as atheists or vice a versa.
Or send people in as , no no no no I promised myself I wouldn't talk about politics.....:)

It's got nothing to do with any ones Ministry of truth.....

I could understand it's appeal in light of the alternative. But let's not delude ourselves. There's no free rides in life and this will come with a slew of compromises. Which are necessary to satisfy the victim and society's concerns. The first thing they'll ask is what happens if they hurt someone again or break the law? Will they admit the depth of control? Probably not. Most things are on a need to know basis.

There's a likely connection to thought crimes as well. Didn't they try something similar in A Clockwork Orange?

I did see that film but I just can't remember that much about it , so long ago.
The Minority report Tom Cruise I can remember very well , let's hope they don't try that one on us.

But back to your OP , are they really thinking of doing this ?.......or are they just showing us what they can do with the tech that we have today.?

I do not believe this will come to fruition before the Lord returns ... the spiritual battle is for the mind ... when one receives Christ we receive the Holy Spirit who helps us to change the way we think .... more towards the mind of Christ. It would also negate free will of which God is very firm on. I do not believe God will allow it ... but that's just my opinion.

I read the book and watched the movie later. I don't remember Minority Report too well but enjoyed it.

As for your question, consider it from a financial standpoint. The prison industrial complex is profitable but not the best use labor wise and employees are needed. The AI option gives them several things. A programmable entity under their control. Are they forced to wear the device for the sentence or the rest of their lives? I doubt it will be an even trade. If they take it they're stuck.

Given the demographic some may be used for the military. Will a similar option be given to juvenile offenders? The prisoners would be reintegrated into society and contribute to the economy while the prisons are repurposed. They're making money on every side and that's always the goal.

And consider the creator. This isn't his first foray and I included his background for a reason. He designed an artificial womb to produce a designer baby. This isn't that different.

Technology is further ahead than they admit. We saw smart homes demonstrated in The Jetsons and the movie The Demon Seed. The latter was allegedly the inspiration behind Alexa.

The prisoners will be offered a choice and it isn't difficult to guess what the majority are likely to choose. Ethical concerns notwithstanding, the bible prepared us for difficult days. Enduring the challenges will be difficult but the wise man prepares nonetheless. He doesn't say it will never happen. We've experienced enough to know otherwise.

We should hope for the best and remain close to the Lord. But don't put all our eggs in one basket. The mental tenacity required for a changing landscape doesn't happen overnight. It's a process of strengthening and layering the mettle which allows the outer to bear the blows while the inner remains in tact.

Just because you believe in God doesn't mean your mind is ironclad or you can handle adversity without breaking. But if we take inventory and confront the weak spots in the wall while the day is here we'll weather the night much easier. But if we do nothing and assume we won't be here for its arrival and discover we're wrong we have no one to blame but ourselves.

If you can live with it that's fine but you can't have it both ways. If you behave as if it will not come to pass and discover otherwise who will pick up the pieces? I wouldn't take that position without running the numbers which requires you to know what percentage of the population feels the same.

For example, if half of the Christians in the U.S. believe we'll be spirited away or spared of certain hardships they're not part of the pool. You look at the remainder to determine what percentage went above and beyond. They had the foresight to anticipate a problem and do more than required. And it isn't a big number. About 10-15%. You're looking at an 85/15 split.

We know God works through people and if you're comfortable putting your fate in their hands that's okay. But understand you're not alone. You don't have to be a guru to recognize the supply won't meet the demand. You'll need a miracle.

This is a terrible terrible idea.

A portable, compact version of this tech that could fit inside briefcase can be used as a torture / coercion weapon. Think having the experience of being burned alive or drowning repeatedly for several days. Agents can issue the torture while you're sitting down in the crowded food court of the mall and nobody will notice.

Ultimately, the tech can be improved enough to be issued to people remotely via implants, microwave, and "micro bots" or even nanobots via tranquilizer darts fired from a tranquilizer gun or "spike" someone's drink. The first who gets hold of this tech can achieve global domination without having to kill anyone. If it finds its way in the black market, organized crime can get hold of it too.

So no, definitely no. This tech is of far greater usefulness to evil purposes than good.

Well of course. It would make a great movie though. ;)
I have similar experiences in dreams that can be influenced by physiological conditions. Bringing me worries that the tech might be entirely feasible within our lifetimes.

The worst-case use scenario is using the tech for mass psychological manipulation / deception

One false-flag op of a deadly pandemic and the government can force people under new laws to undergo "treatment" into the machine, giving them false memories of events that never happened.

There are many reasons why any gov't or world organizations would be motivated to do this. One huge motivating factor is the problem of overpopulation.

They can euthanize billions while implanting memories to the remaining population that a deadly virus was to blame. One could justify the murder of billions under the reasoning that billions would die anyway if WW3 breaks out due to overpopulation.

They could even implant memories of fake WW3 so the remaining population can be herded anywhere they wanted under pretense that many places have been rendered uninhabitable by radioactive fallout.

I really don't like where this is going, the tech has far more uses for evil than good.

I agree and Hillary Clinton comes to mind. Scary stuff!

Hillary Clinton: MAGA ‘cult members’ need ‘deprogramming’

Former Democratic presidential nominee State Hillary Clinton railed against supporters of former President Trump during a new CNN interview, comparing those who still support the former president after the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection to members of a cult.

“Maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” she said in a clip released late Thursday.

I forgot to mention Joe Bidens ministry of truth.
Could you imagine being found guilty for spreading misinformation ( that which goes against the Gov narrative )

And the judge says we got a program that will fix you up son , you will only be in prison for a few hours and when you come out you will have a much better understanding of the world around you. You will know the truth , our truth.

However you will be banned from reading or watching George Orwell's 1984 , this is for your own good son , we don't want you filling your mind up with more nonsense.

Several movies and one TV series comes to mind concerning use of this tech.

Oblivion, ExistenZ, Matrix, Inception, Upgrade (2018), Total Recall (both 1990 and 2012).

I have personally experienced it in a dream. Working as a "low profile" courier for the "feds" distributing the memory-implantation device (I didn't know at the time) to different places.

And then someone in that dream, probably a hacker disguised as an old man told me everything isn't real, it's all a dream and told me I'm going to wake up in a short moment and then I'm going back to sleep again and wake up in the same train, carrying the device and talking to the old man.

Incredibly, I did wake up in real life, this reality, fully conscious, not dreaming anymore. I walked around my room making sure everything's real and I'm fully awake. Went back to sleep again and I got back to exactly the same dream the old man told me and we're back together talking about the device.

I got really confused for few days, don't know what's real anymore. I still have moments of doubts today. It's part of the reason I don't fear death. The undying curiosity whether that dream is actually telling me the truth.

Even if used for its solely intended purpose of virtual imprisonment, it may cause irreparable psychological and mental damage to a criminal.

Oh man glad I don't have dreams like that.
You mentioned that move Inception , well I didn't enjoy that it totally spun me out I couldn't handle it...lol

Let's hope this tech never get's used.

Also the idea of a simulated prison experience was the plot of an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (“Hard Time”, in which Chief Miles O’Brien, wrongly convicted for a crime, is forcibly given memories of spending 30 years in prison), and even before that had appeared in literary SF.

If we had the technology to do this in terms of virtual reality, there is no way governments would be buying it for purposes of judicial punishment, rather, it would be being used for a combination of video gaming and shall we say adult-oriented activities.
