  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I never acquired the taste for coffee. I do remember the time when my best friend and I went across the street to Krystal to try to learn to like it. It worked for her, not me. (If I have to have the caffeine, I will use NoDoz.)

Good coffee is not only a science, but a art also. True story. Have you ever tried a latte? Go to Dutch Bro and try one.

The site that I posted, Drink Coffee Do Good, actually offers a grind specifically for those who use a coffee press. Among most coffee aficionados the press is the preferred method of preparation. :D

Well then, I'll have to try squeezing the _ _ _ _ out of my coffee. One time I made some coffee by letting it set in cold water. It came out good, but you have to use more coffee.

If it wasn't for coffee I would have no ambition in life. One morning I finished off a strong pot of coffee and was feeling ambitious for the day. So as I was driving down the road, I found that everyone was in my way. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way, just do something! I can always tell when I have had to much coffee, it's when I do hand springs across the parking lot. One day I was driving a friend to work when a person passed me doing about 85 Mph. He said, " I wonder what his big hurry was." I looked over at him and said, "too much coffee." Some say coffee is a mind altering experience, but I have my doubts about that. I do not recall ever changing my mind after coffee. Besides that, I'm certain that you are all in my way.;)

So what do you think about coffee?

Grew up getting used to the taste of coffee and coming to like it (even though I use alot of sweets in it). However, although I enjoy it and have worked at a Coffee shop (Caribou), I must say that it is a bit disturbing to see how addictive it can become. Moreover, it's a bit bothersome seeing the many ways in which coffee has been utilized to do ALOT of damage globally when it comes to many of the dangerous things done in trading/growing it. There was an excellent book I was able to read years ago entitled "Every Day Justice" that really helped me to see some of the ways coffee can be just as damaging as cocaine.....as seen here.

To see how many farmers don't get paid fairly and how many have literally been damaged with the amount of coffee they've been forced to produce was shocking---and yet we in the U.S have no problem drinking our coffee as if it didn't mean anything. Fair Trade coffee is what I'd prefer nowadays that I realize how many aren't really given their due...

As another said best, "few Americans realize that agriculture workers in the coffee industry often toil in what can be described as 'sweatshops in the fields.' Many small coffee farmers receive prices for their coffee that are less than the costs of production, forcing them into a cycle of poverty and debt.". Thankfully, other organizations are seeking to address this...and it's one of the reasons why I was glad for working at Caribou since their "Rainforest Alliance" program does alot of work on the matter.

Torah commands that we have a heart for justice, as the book of Amos commands rather forcefully multiple times alongside other passages...and as much as I love a good cup of coffee/brew, I have to

For a good documentary on the matter, one can go online and look up the documentary entitled Black Gold.

I thank God everyday for coffee. One of his greatest gifts for people who aren't morning people :)

Too much of it and it can kill you (Caffine)...but just the right amount...and it really is a blessing:D
