That's amazing!! I have listened to a couple of the presentations she has done at other churches/seminaries and recommended them before - truly remarkable and insightful woman of God who is always able to convey her points in a eloquent manner and yet keep such an amazing sense of humor and relaxed personality Wish I was able to be there with you in hearing her....but indeed, every time I've heard her speak, it has brought to my mind how easily people can have stereotypes of nuns (i.e. "Nuns are stuffy!" ) that have zero to do with reality

ehehe...that was supposed to be a joke about stuffy.... Yeah I met her personally and we went out to.....breakfast not only coffee. she is a blast and very funny she has that nice New Yorker dry humor that it is so similar to New England humor

Has she come to visit any seminaries?
I think she can bring about a lot of good points. She set some contaversial issues as Ecumenism in the right perspective too... After she explained that she is not interested in dialogue... at all! Some of the attendants did gave her some hard questions on this issue and she kind of shut them up in her own humorous but stern way...I just loved it!

And I was going to ask what EWTN is and if I should look for it?

I had planned to look for Sr. Vassa. I was listening to Praying in the Rain the other day, and the Fr. recommended her program.

I am really, really, REALLY loving Ancient Faith Radio. My ap isn't working, but at least I can get it from the website just fine.

I see. Well, I am interested in learning about all kinds of beliefs so I can understand better, but I will also say that I think I so much better understand the Orthodox way of thinking from listening to AFR.

I remember when I first started looking into it, I was sometimes told my questions were just "not the way the Orthodox looked at things" and that my very path of inquiry was foreign to that way of thinking. I am starting to understand that.

I am in classes at the church, and as part of that, Fr. M. has offered his blessing to listen to certain things, and cautioned me about other things. Out of respect, and because I find his advice sound, I follow it, and it has helped me.

I'm nowhere near running out of things to listen to on AFR anyway.

I do not mean to sound bitter here....but maybe the Catholic media outlet is used because we are not? It is not on purpose I can tell you that much without getting political here but yeah... Let's say they are helping more to spread the Orthodox Christian message than what our Church is doing....:o

Well, yesterday I was looking up something (don't remember what) and it led to a Catholic site. I read the whole article and learned the history of the catechumenate and why the call Bright Week - Bright Week.

I like some of the stuff on EWTN. Believe me, if there were an Orthodox television channel, I would watch that instead.

I can't take EWTN. It's brutal. So much false information there and they've made Catholicism so packaged like a product, it's unbearable.

If they come out with OTV (Orthodox Television), I want the logo on the bottom right of the TV screen to be a little beard and censor
