  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My oldest DD (25.5) is pregnant with her first baby (yay! :)) and asked me yesterday about cloth diapering. It's been about 6 years since I cloth diapered, I know most of the WAHM cloth diapers I used don't exist anymore, and my computer crashed and I lost all the links I Did have.

Could you share with me your favorite websites to buy from and your favorite cloth diapers, please? I'm going to be putting together an email for my DD to share everyone's suggestions. :)

Thank you!

I use bumGenius 3.0s One Size with my 8 week old and 22 month old. Love them. Cotton Babies makes them and they have excellent customer service. My favorite site when researching which cloth diapers I wanted was the Diaper Pin. They have user ratings and reviews on both the diapering products as well as the companies selling them. They also have a fairly active message board which I found useful too.

I will second the BG3.0s.

Diaperswappers is a good forum to check and get second hand stuff, and there are a few folks who sell on there as well.

I ordered all of ours and two wetbags with the booty spray and some babylegs at http://www.lesliesboutique.com/

Leslie really worked with us to get them here to Germany without any troubles. I'll definitely order with her again

It has been forever... but I will never forget! A friend gave me a dozen flat, terry nappies from GB. They were wonderful! And they held up through three kids, and on to a friend for hers as well! Just search for terry nappies and you'll find lots! I never did find a US supplier, but I think they are worth importing.

Snappis! Don't forget snappis if she is doing prefolds w/ covers!
:amen: I agree with Fishy. I loved mine! lol My Ped didn't, though. You would think someone who went to college for ten years could figure out how to work a rubberband with "teeth". :) I can't recommend a good cloth diaper, though, I'm sorry. I can say this: Don't use Gerber!! They leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak! I vowed never again, but next time I'm just gonna cough up the money for good cloth diapers.

I got nearly my entire stash from diaperswappers.
They have a WAHM board where they can sell the dipes that they make. I'm in love with my BGs but I'm more of a pocket diaper kinda girl.

We also have the organic Imse Vimse fitteds and they are SO soft and then I get to put cute little covers on them. :D The sky is the limit with cd'ing anymore. We also have some diapers by the name of Wonder Works. They are pockets and I have no idea whether they are just some WAHMs or if they are an actual brand, but they are GREAT. I'm big on the one sizers because then you aren't having to rebuild your stash ever few months. We are awaiting a Chunky Monkey and I'm pretty excited about it.

Thirsties covers are great! :D I also like the Happy Heineys...

I don't like any one particular kind, can you tell? :sorry: I will second getting the snappis as opposed to diaper pins, though. You can use the snappis with fitteds, too. SO MUCH easier! :swoon:

yeah, I ordered myself some Snappis, only so I can swaddle my little man better. He is SO long... that he is not fitting in any of the blankets that I was given, and he likes having the 'in utero' feeling so much when he goes to sleep -- he's so strong I can't fight with him to keep him that way and swaddling's the easiest for it.

One more thing you might want to keep in mind -- the cloth diapers make the baby bigger in length/size than most outfits for their age, so you might want to invest in some onesie snaps that will help elongate the outfit. Best Dressed Tot Has some, but for the life of me I don't recall what they're actually called. Basically it's an extender with three snaps on either side of it so that the onesies fit up to the month or weight they should.

For example, my little guy is in 3mo outfits, but is now popping out of them due to the diaper more than his actual length and weight... so I cannot wait to get my hands on them and be able to use our outfits much longer. As hot as it is here, the onesies come in handy. I'd use shirts more, but the wind is too cool to get away with that without him getting sick...

hope that helps some more!

I love Chunky Monkey!! I'm having one made as soon as the baby is born and we name her, so I can have her name embroidered on the bum :)

SO fun! I was going to do one for J but hopefully we'll start pt so I don't want to spend too much on him (we are just getting started cd'ing). If we ever get to have a second little one, I'll definitely be personalizing one! :D
