closer to God but not really

I feel sooo very very far far far from god but not really . In this time when i feel far away in my faith from god i don't hear him speak to me or anything! Its scary for me! I feel his presents off & on & even sometimes i even hear him speaking to me! Now don't get me wrong that i'm going crazyfrom not hearing my heavenly father in a long time.This was going on for about 3 weeks . How do i get closer to God & how do i get on fire for god again? Help PLEASE!

Your desire to be closer to Him is dear to His heart. That's where it all begins, with desire to be closer. Spend some time each day, completely alone where you can quiet your soul and prepare yourself to hear from Him. Open the word and begin to read prayerfully asking Him to speak to you. He will. If you make a habit of spending time alone with Him each day, soon you will begin to enjoy the intimate fellowship that is available.
Think of it this way. If there was a person you really liked, wouldn't you want to spend time with them and talk to them to let them know how much they meant to you? Well, the Father is not different, He too likes us to put time and effort into a relationship with Him...

As honeybee wrote, a desire to be closer to our creator is pure and is valued above all other desires. Recognize that this desire came straight from our Compassionate Lord! Therefore, if you are found to be desiring of our Lord, be confident, then, that it will be met. No hope in the Lord is ever dead. It is the most real, most alive hope because it only grows and is never dashed - nothing can take it down (Romans 8:37-39). Also remember that were it not for His grace, you would not be writing what you did. Praise God for this!

I too find myself frightened when I am fall away from our Lord. It is scary when I begin to feel more alone from our eternal Father.

One 'trick' I have found to be quite useful is alone time, as honeybee wrote. For me, the best alone time I have is on walks or runs. It is at these times that the daily distractions are left behind me - no computer, no tv, no music, no people - just me and my Savior. These are the times that I often feel most alive and comforted by our God. Another 'add-on trick' is to be completely, totally honest, especially during alone times. It seems that when I am in prayer and trying to get close, if I do not take every single one of my desires before the Lord, I am not strengthened. We cannot leave behind our humanity when we go before our Lord - instead we must bring it before Him to be sanctified (2 Cor. 10:5).

Read and pray and serve.

Meditate on His Word.
Prayer without ceasing.
Use what He has given to you to serve others.

Without meditation and prayer, it is next to impossible to be close to Him. Also, many times serving others with the gifts He has given us also spurs us on in our relationship with Him.

well the longer you serve the Lord, the more you realise these times come and go. there are seasons for us all, when we cant seem to feel or hear God. but God expects us to live by FAITH and SERVITUDE becuase we love him, when we are basking in the glory of God and when we are not.
its part of the process we must all go through to become FAITHFUL servants of God.

this place doesnt mean you are doing anything wrong, but it should go to show you how much God reqires us to consecrate ourselves in order to maintain a close walk with God.
all christians who walk very far with the Lord soon realise that their relationship with God is closely tied into their commitedness to prayer and fellowship. no prayer place, no power. no bible study, no power. and it takes great power to maintain a close walk with the glory of God.

it may mean youve drifted away from daily prayer, it may mean you need to commit more time to seek his face. Go on fast, when you feel yourself slipping, its time to leg up and do something out of the ordinary to break it off.
all my mentors tell me that when they feel themselves growing cold, they go on a fast, or something that will bring back closer to God. sometimes you have to fight, to keep yourself from growing cold.

the people i know who know God the most powerfully, are the people who have broken free from everything and know how to spend hours on their face before God if they need too.
or their the people who have dug and dug into the word of God deeply, becuase often it is the word of God that spurs the power of God in us.

but most of all, it is those are FAITHFUL to him, even when they dont know where hes gone, but they keep on walking anyway, staying close to word of God when they cant here Gods voice, and eventually they'll break through and begin to understand what it was they were going through.

but be faithful, no matter what happens, the storm wont last always.
these times come, but you have to be faithful to make it through.
and seek the Lord hell show what you need to do.
