  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's so nice of you. Thanks for the encouragement -- it's one of those dreams I keep returning to and thinking, but that was so normal. I just assume that when we listen more, God doesn't need to make dreams as dramatic. "Real" or not, the prayer can't hurt!

That's what I was thinking while reading your post. We are called to pray for and support our leaders, even if we don't like them. Surely she needs it, and I believe our prayers will avail much if we are faithful in them.

Really... whether we agree with what they do or not, their actions and interactions will still impact what happens to us. Now I'm sounding selfish about prayer support, lol. Daniel supported Neb to a limit, and Joseph supported the Pharaoh. Removing the temptation to declare black and white can open us up to a different type of influence.

Also, to, your request for prayer goes along with Paul's instruction to Timothy:

1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim 2:1-3)
