Nice - what College do you go to?

I'm getting a BS in Piloting and a BS in ATC, but I am probably going to transfer to UND next fall and finish up getting a degree in ATC and than a degree in Helocopter piloting instead of my current airplane BS.

I am at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. My major is aeronautical science with a flight science concentration. That pretty much means I can get all the instructor certificates on the flight side, and I will get my A&P on the mechanical side.

Ive heard good things about UND, except that their planes are fairly old. We just replaced half of our skyhawk fleet, and it makes me happy. I'm flying glass cockpit this semester, which is going to be amazing. the entire fleet will be glass by next fall. Expensive, but exciting.

Oh wait... tuition... thats right, just dig deeper into the students pockets...

UND supposedly just bought a bunch of planes last year, anyhow I wont be flying themanyway since I will be in the helo program.

Right now I am a senior at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Why are you going to do the A & P program too? Are you going to do both, or is it a backup in case you loose your medical?

yeah, tuition is not cheap here. I am doing the A&P cause a lot of mission boards require that for their pilots. Im not a huge fan of the maintenance, but i will have it if needed. I really want to do missions work in Alaska, as they are in huge need of transportation across the inacessible areas.

Im not sure if I could do Helocopters... it would be really fun though!! in one class, we had a section on helocopters, and the prof had attached some crash videos to the presentation, but they didnt transfer. So those of us with laptops (the building has wireless internet) searched for them and watched them while he was lecturing. yeah... fun times. They look like a lot of fun though

What exactly do you want to do with aviation?

Heh, they actually give a BS in "piloting"?

I'm probably either going to do ROTC in school or WOCS after I graduate, and go into Army Aviation. Unfortunately helos are about the only thing left in the military for people who want to actually fly.

I'm only a few hours short of being able to get my license as is, but I don't see much point in spending the time & money finishing it when I don't have time to fly, or anything to fly.

I'll just keep chalking up hours in flight sims when I have a spare minute
