  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi Everyone,

I've returned to class again this term, and they just began this week. The first week has been slow, but I started studying ahead, and it's challenging my brain cells. I'm taking a totally different degree than I initially planned - Computer Information Systems. I know NOTHING about this, except that computer studies should make me more marketable.

So all this to say that I'm taking Accounting, English and Fundamentals of Computers. All three are required courses, and the accounting class is definitely a lot of work!

I look forward to this term and the challenges it brings, but I also need to manage my time and my stress.

So what are you studying this term? How is it going? Are you excited or do you find your courses boring, challenging, etc.?

I look forward to hearing about your experiences.

Kristen

This is my first semester in college and I'm excited but also kinda overwhelmed. I'm an undecided major right now -- I think I want to be an elementary teacher, so I will probably be elementary ed? But I also really like literature and art and history, so right now I just want to try a lot of things and find out what it is I really like!

This semester I'm mostly taking core requirements. But I have Principles of Biology (interesting but overwhelming), Algebra (ugh, but at least I already know it), World Civ/History (really interesting), Origins of Culture (really interesting), and English Composition (not too bad, at least we are doing some reading and I like writing).

I have taken multiple accounting classes and I will say I am happy they are over with.

I start nursing school on Thursday. Everything I take from here on out are all nursing classes...and primarily with the same 200 people for the next 2 years. I am both scared to death and wondering "how hard can it be?" The thing that is intimidating is realizing that everybody who made it into the nursing program has a 3.8 grade point at this time or higher...and people still don't make all the way through. I still haven't read the first chapters or prepared for the first two days of class later this week...so I better get my hiney in gear.

Awesome to read your classes and to share this part of your life. How's it going now that we're 2-3 weeks in? Going well?

I've found the class I expected to be the easiest is the hardest, and the class I expected to breeze through is taking me the most time. lol I definitely expected them wrong... but it's going well.
