Just an FYI-the procedure of circumcision needs to be modified. The current method is way outdated.

The Jews have done it that way for thousands of years, right? Why would they change, and risk getting it wrong, when the consequences are so high?

The apostle Paul was pretty clear that gentile Christians do not need to be circumcised. Many Christians regard baptism as a replacement for circumcision, and some baptize babies based on the analogy.

Many ancient cultures practiced circumcision, most of them as teenagers, and it was often a test of maturity. The Jews were unique as far as I know, in circumcising infants. The choice of the eighth day is evidence that God knew the best time to minimize the risk of infection.

Today, if you convert to Judaism, expect that circumcision will be required. Even if you were medically circumcised already, a Jewish ritual which draws blood must take place. But as Christians, circumcision is never required by any group I know of.
