Men who are circumcised enjoy sex just fine -- the fact that they are able to have sex is evidence of their enjoyent.

Organizations which combat FGM say it isn't comparable to male circumcision. Even the British recently ruled that they are substantively different.

I think you're misinterpreting that scripture... What that verse implies is not that both genders can be morphed etc but that God sees beyond our race and gender, that verse has nothing to do with homosexuality.

No - I am saying that the interpretation you gave which says that the terms Jew and Gentile are irrelevant ONLY works if you say that male and female are equally irrelevant. (which would render homosexuality ok) And we know that is NOT the case.

I agree God sees beyond race, gender, social status, economic class, etc. to give us all a level field before the Cross. That is the point of that scripture; NOT that the distinctions are gone altogether.

Judaism, Islam, and some Christian sects (Copic Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox, American Ecangelical) all perform circumcision for religious reasons.

And there definitely ARE health benefits to circumcision. Several peer reviewed studies show irrefutably that male circumcision lowers the likelihood of spreading the HIV by a significant percent, up to 95% according to one of the studies.

1) Those other groups (besides Jews) may well once have done it, but they rarely do now.

2) So I take it you're planning to raise sons who are at high risk of exposure to HIV? Seriously, this is about the thinnest of defences. If DOCTORS say it's entirely unnecessary (for health reasons), I think we can safely conclude that it is.

We're hardly likely to hear any complaints, given the tiny number of such. Besides, if someone is so enamoured of their new religion that they're prepared to cut off a part of their body, I don't think differences in sexual sensation are going to register very clearly.

I'd be interested to know what percentage of pro-circumcision theists are anti-cosmetic surgery (in teenagers and young adults particularly).
