  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

But would that have been as commercially successful? I don't know. Disney's only real goal is selling merchandise, theme parks and the like, after all. Frozen is a clear-cut celebration of 'being yourself' at all costs and that those that really love you, would do so regardless what you get up to. My version would be far more ambivalent.

I have similar problems. When I take out what I don't like - even in 'Christian' movies where I leave the Christian themes - people don't like it.

"Be yourself at all costs" is typical Disney princess material.

A young guy did a thoughtful YouTube video on the difference between Disney and Pixar in that regard. Where Disney protagonists are always dissatisfied with their lives and want more--despite the cost--Pixar protagonists generally start the movie happy with their existences, but are then thrown into situations forcing them to adapt.

The Disney movies tend to be about getting what you want, the Pixar movies tend to be about adapting to uncertain changes.
