Church dress code.

It's amazing that some of us can try to be a little transparent and admit to being tempted and get slammed for being judgmental.

It's not a question of slamming you for being judgemental. But it's not the women's fault you find them attractive - it's not anyone's fault. I can practically guarantee you're going to find women attractive that are dressed perfectly modestly, by your standards. I certainly find people attractive who are covered up. The only option to prevent people in church being distracted by one another is segregation of men and women, and isolation for anyone gay or bisexual. That's not really a practical solution.

It's hard to give credibility to people who say you shouldn't judge others but what they wear unless it's nice clothes. Then your some kind to superficial pig.

Do you really think that Christ would have cared what people wore to listen to him or whether they had a tattoo or a piercing?

I didn't think Christ cares what people are wearing. I do think that he expects us to become a new creature once we are saved. I would imagine as they become a Christian their wardrobe would change to be more modest or appropiate. Even if that means going from skippy clothes to jeans and nice shirts.

How do you know they're "following the ways of the world"? You make it sound like everyone who gets a tattoo or piercing does it just because it's "cool"- you fail to realize that many people get tattoos and piercings that have deep personal meaning or mark important life events. I really doubt that Jesus would judge someone for having a tattoo of their child's name or face (or any other tattoo for that matter), so why should you judge them?
The parents can believe their child is in heaven and still get a tattoo to memorialize their child. That's an extremely difficult and personal decision and honestly, at the risk of being rude, it's absolutely none of your or anyone else's business.

Well, if that is the case, why don't they write down their memoirs, take photography or paint. Tattoos go blue after a while and the skin puckers and distorts the image as the person gets old. The fact remains that the tattoo artist is the one who makes the money. I do not see GOD glorified by the like. Create a college fund or help another little child who is dying through a contribution. To walk around with a picture of someone dead on one's arm, helps no one, and the dead child knows cannot enjoy the display (according to the Bible). Job 14:21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he preceiveth not of them.

Bring flowers to the living and in memory give bread to the poor ---- but waste money on body decoration helps only the artist and flowers on graves put but cash in the hands of the florest.

Again, we return to the word "modesty." Dress not to tempt nor to be tempted. That is how one should dress to please GOD and to not embarrass new Christians.

Well, the stew is a lot less jugmental of the soup around him. It is my place to biblically point out seeming errors of judgment when asked for an opinion. If a "Christian's tattoos turn people off, then he should not be getting them. I never heard that not having tattoos turns anyone off. I've heard of poeple making fun of the old JESUS FIRST lapel pins and yet the fact remains that such is as easily removed as it is pinned on. Tattoos insult for life.

No one asked you for your opinion of how people should spend their money or express their faith. You brought it up as a tangent for church dress code.
