It's not "list the events detailed in Genesis in chronological order with respect to evolution", its with respect to reality.

Evolution (an explanation for the patterns and diversity of living creatures) doesn't say sun - earth - moon - life, reality does.

Well we know from a literal reading of the two Genesis accounts that they describe completely different orders of creation, so at least one of the accounts isn't chronological. If we know that at least one creation accounts in Genesis is not chronological, how do you know that they are not both symbolic and nonchronological?

Indeed --- and this is my point --- the two lists are irreconcilable, even with my Embedded Age scenario.
Honestly AV, if your embedded age view can reconcile two mutually contradictory ages by labeling them as paradox, I don't think there is anything that is actually irreconcilable in it. Just embed one of your time sequences in a different order.

And why not say the six day creation was embedded in a 13.7 billion year old universe? Much easier to stack that way. The smaller doll goes inside the bigger one.

Yeah, as I pointed out they are not biblical, don't know why you keep referring to them.

I'll just throw in one of Johnny's lines from Airplane II: The Sequel:

"Well, let's see. First the earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes."

Addendum: And in the meantime, I'll remind AV that he can repeat "This is what God says" until he is blue in the face, but until he offers some evidence that his interpretation is right and evolution and the myriad other contradictory creationist interpretations of the Bible are wrong, he's really just saying "This is my opinion." Of course, I won't hold my breath in the hopes that he will actually scrutinize what lies below the surface of his beliefs anytime soon.

word.

I don't see the point in being in a debate forum at all with AV1612VETs attitude. His position is ultimately a debate stopper.

What's that have to do with "attitude"?

- How do you get light before the sun and other stars?
Free moving photons moving all over the place (Light is coming to us from the sun as it is. Imagine removing the sun right now, the light that would have been coming is still coming to us for the next 6 min. Now take this 'light' and multiply it many times over and just arbitrarily place it around the earth. You now have light without a sun.

- How do you get an earth before the sun and other stars?
Why not?

- How do you arbitrarily separation light from darkness?
align the light rays, beams, photons, whatever in such a way so that they are rotating around the earth (or have the earth rotating while they are steady) in such a way so that half of them pass through one point that are in mass, then the other half as nearly empty. Much like walking between 2 rooms, one that is dark and one that is light.
- How do you get plants before you have a sun?
A plant can easily survive for a day without sunlight. Put a plant in your closet and see for yourself.

Besides, we DO have that rotating light going around the earth, so they do get sunlight.

- How do you get fruit before you have animals?
Why not?

I suspect "debate stopper" is a euphamism for something along the lines of "intractably stubborn."

A literalist would miss the message, however.

Interesting remark, in view of the fact that not one person understands what I want from my OP.

As Mick Jagger sang,

You can't always get what you want...
But if you try sometimes, you might find you get what you need.

We understand it -- but it, like many of your other "challenge" threads, are such steaming examples of Internet fertilizer that it's difficult for any of us to care.

The "not one" seems quite accurate. But as long as you yourself don't understand what you want, why should anybody else?

i don't really think its possible, the authors of genesis had no clue how the universe came into being. or how life started or evolved

i understand it just fine, i just don't think the two can be compared or contrasted, since genesis is a creation story, not a scientific explanation

but i'll give it a go i suppose

the stars are made first
the sun which is a star is there already to give light, so theres no point in god asking for light
the earth is created, it is barren, no water, it is molten, cools
millions of years pass, an object hurtling toward the earth rips part of it out forming the moon
the atmosphere is formed, thus allowing water to form , i believe
after a billion years abiogenesis happens, first cells of life form
then comes bacteria
then algae and early plants
starfish, soft bodied life,insects
fish, and animals with a spine
land seas separate at some point
land plants and early land animals
millions of years evolution happen, land insects evolve
fish evolve into amphibians, then to lizards, and on to dinosaurs
plants evolve fruit
small mammals evolve.
dinosaurs and many megafauna get wiped out by the kt event
mammals evolve into modern life, along the way birds evolve
this includes man who evolve from savanna dwelling ape-like ancestors

wow you know genesis sure is amazingly wrong, is this what you wanted though?
i don't know what good it will do you, considering how complex life has been

Just take the words found in Genesis 1 and list them chronologically.

Bacteria, algae, starfish are not words found in Genesis 1.

I contend then that Genesis should not be used for Biology as it ignores the vast majority of the biomass on the Earth.

This is the problem, you are handed an answer with the information you want (and then some) and you aren't satisfied with it.

It sounds like you want a timeline of the universe. There's this wonderful site called google that allows you to search for all kinds of neat things.
You can find things like graphics showing it.
poster.jpg

Also on the same site you can find out exactly was each term means.
Here's another site
And one with a very detailed timeline
Here's one with just evolution
And yet another one

They already did that. It's called a Bible.

Bacteria, algae, starfish are not words found in Genesis 1.

Then you should hold taxonomy to a higher standard and insist that these organisms do not exist.

you didn't say anything about just using the words in genesis, now you are just moving the goalposts
just take out the parts about god creating the sun or the moon.
since the sun is a star, the dome part, since there isn't one.
plants after the sun, fish before.. you know what who cares?

genesis is wrong, in leaves out 9% of the stuff that happened as science has found

why do you even care if genesis or science agree with each other, you don't even agree with science 99% of the time
