If Christians are going to go out of their way to get the government to endorse religions, no fair complaining when the government does exactly that.
This is a perfect example of why the government is supposed to stay out of the business of advertising for various brands of religion. Now that OK leaders have decided it is part of the state's job, it is open season for all of the varieties of religion to use government property to get their message out to the people.
And yeah, that statue looks rockin'. "The statue will also have a functional purpose as a chair where people of all ages may sit on the lap of Satan for inspiration and contemplation." Love it. Unfortunately the people who most need to understand the irony of some groups being offended by this will be too busy getting offended by it to appreciate the effort.
Meanwhile the quotes from the R lawmakers are pretty much making the outcome of the court case a done deal. I'm sure that's what they are going for - when SCOTUS knocks this law down they get to pretend they're fighting the good fight for Jesus against liberal activist judges. Too bad their followers don't see the contradiction between "small" government republicans and wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on publicity stunts like this.
