So the sons of Israel shall observe the sabbath, to celebrate the sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. - Exodus 31:16
Seems clear who is supposed to observe the Sabbath and who it is there for.
Right on!
Talking about yourself again I see.
I thought we were grafted into the vine and not the other way around. Seems to me that if God wanted the seventh day to be sabbeth then who is man to change that?Gerhard Ebersöhn;67194064 said:Sophrosyne View Post
If one is speaking to an audience of Jews and says "man" then it is appropriate as the audience is.... men AND Jews. Let's face it Jesus himself said he was sent ONLY to Israel and thus the "man" would be.... Israel.
So if you're not Israel, Jesus did not come for you...?
When large amounts of pagans began converting to Christianity from Rome in the 2nd Century, They brought their pagan customs with them. They started saying the Lord's day is on the day of the Sun and that December 25th is his birthday (every sun God's birthday around the world is on the 25th of Dec.) and Easter instead of Passover.
Coincidence? I think not. The Bible doesn't say it got changed to Sunday and it doesn't say he was born on the 25th of December either. Instead of admitting they changed it from their pagan backgrounds, they just said "Jesus rose on Sunday, So that's why we're changing it". That makes no sense anyway since they do all the things the bible says not to do on the Sabbath.
Nope! I'm a Christian. Before I became a Christian I was a gentile.Gerhard Ebersöhn;67194051 said:Definitely!
Are you one of them, The Israel of God?
God is their God ONLY!
Speaking for myself - Yes Jesus came for me, He wasn't sent to me.Gerhard Ebersöhn;67194064 said:Sophrosyne View Post

There is no help for those who choose to be willfully blind.
Isaiah 56:1-8
Be just and fair to all, the Lord God says. Do whats right and good, for I am coming soon to rescue you. Blessed is the man who refuses to work during my Sabbath days of rest, but honors them; and blessed is the man who checks himself from doing wrong. And my blessings are for Gentiles, too, when they accept the Lord; dont let them think that I will make them second-class citizens. And this is for the eunuchs too. They can be as much mine as anyone. For I say this to the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths holy, who choose the things that please me and obey my laws: I will give themin my house, within my wallsa name far greater than the honor they would receive from having sons and daughters. For the name that I will give them is an everlasting one; it will never disappear. As for the Gentiles, the outsiders who join the people of the Lord and serve him and love his name, who are his servants and dont desecrate the Sabbath, and have accepted his covenant and promises, I will bring them also to my holy mountain of Jerusalem and make them full of joy within my House of Prayer. I will accept their sacrifices and offerings, for my Temple shall be called A House of Prayer for All People! For the Lord God who brings back the outcasts of Israel says: I will bring others, too, besides my people Israel.
I see Maco was right, <<There is no help for those who choose to be willfully blind.>>

Well on second thought maybe I'd just better pass on this one. Yes I redid the post. When large amounts of pagans began converting to Christianity from Rome in the 2nd Century, They brought their pagan customs with them. Are my eyes having some terrible problem?Gerhard Ebersöhn;67193965 said:Do have your christ who is your sabbath rest who is your religion for yourself and be happy.
Please do not make me unhappy and offer me your christ or your sabbath rest or your religion; I believe "the day The Seventh Day Sabbath OF THE LORD (my) GOD", understand?
