The reason for the change in the Sabbath was out of understanding what the Sabbath fundamentally is.
It is a day of reverence to the Lord. The difference was that before, it was about revering God and Creation. Now, it is about revering Christ.
It doesn't make any sense for a Christian to have the Sabbath on Saturday and not Sunday, which is the triumph day of Jesus.
The Jews, who believed in the Messiah Jesus, kept the observance of Saturday.

Gentile Christianity is also theologically superior. There aren't many Augustines and Aquinas in Messianic Judaism.
Christ sets the faithful free from the law to live life in the Spirit. Morals and sound doctrine grow in the mind and heart of the faithful by the Spirit. The law is inscribed on stone and it kills. It works death, that is its ministry.(2 Corinthians 3:6-7)... God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses face ...
The Lord's day, is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It does not matter what day people congregate.
The Gentile Christians, however, congregated on Sunday. The Jews, who believed in the Messiah Jesus, kept the observance of Saturday.
But the Lord's day, is every day.
Makes perfect sense to me.The reason for the change in the Sabbath was out of understanding what the Sabbath fundamentally is.

Why do you ask seeing you do not believe them?So then ... "Paul" inferior to Augustine??
"John" --- inferior to Augustine??
"Peter" -- inferior to Augustine??
"James" -- inferior to Augustine??
Augustine heresies include:
Augustine's writes "I feel that nothing so casts down the manly mind from its heavenly heights as ..those bodily contacts which belong to the married state."31 Good Christians are exhorted by him to simultaneously love a woman's personality, yet "to hate in her the corruptible and mortal conjugal connection,...and all that pertains to her as a wife."32 Women do not even bear the image of God, according to Augustine, unless they are joined to a man.
Give me the messianic Jewish Apostles - every day over Augustine's heresies.

"we know that in the Old Testament it was the seventh day of the week - the Sabbath day - which was observed as the Lords Day. That was the law as God gave it...'remember to keep holy the Sabbath day..the early Christian church determined as the Lords Day the first day of the week. That the church had the right to make such a law is evident...the reason for changing the Lords Day from Saturday to Sunday lies in the fact that to the Christian church the first day of the week had been made double holy...nothing is said in the bible about the change of the Lords Day from Saturday to Sunday..that is why we find so illogical the attitude of many non-catholic who say they will believe nothing unless they can find it in the bible and yet will continue to keep Sunday as the Lords Day on the say-so of the catholic church.
Post the code book that provides your meaning to your quotes. All will see that the Scripture is being made to say things it does not intend for the reader to understand. In Mark 7:6-13 Christ upholds the Law to slam supposedly sacred infallible tradition.
In John 14:15 BEFORE the cross or any change at the cross Christ said "if you love Me KEEP My Commandments" in the TEN Commandments God said to "Love Me and KEEP My Commandments".
Christ... is God.
For the wicked the law remains external on tablets of stone - for the born-again the LAW is "written on the heart and mind" Jer 31:31-33... Hebrews 8.
Paul points out that the wicked do not submit to God's Law - neither indeed CAN they" Roman 8:5-8 and then contrasts the stated of the wicked with the saints who walk according to the Spirit.
Rom 3:31 "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! in fact we ESTABLISH the Law of God"
Romans 6 "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under LAW but under grace? May it never BE!"
1 John 2:1 - "These things I write to you that you SIN not"
1John 3:4 "SIN IS transgression of the LAW"

No where in Holy Writ do we find the Sabbath called the Lord's Day. The words you quote from Isa 58:14 do not appear in my copy of the Bible. I did not even find anything close.Mark 2:28 "The SON of Man is LORD of the Sabbath"
Is 58:14 The Sabbath is the "Holy day of the LORD"
Gen 2:1-3 the Sabbath seventh day is made a Holy day for all mankind "Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made."
Is 66:23 "From Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL mankind come before Me to bow down" -- true even after the cross and at the time of the "New heavens and New Earth" of Rev 21.
Other than that - no day is specified in either OT or NT as the "Lord's Day".
That the Lord's Day as given by God in the Bible was the Sabbath - the seventh day -- is admitted to even by the following RC commentary on the post Vatican-II Baltimore Catechism (see next post)

It was a little early for his church to be in session. NTL it is still a sin to post on the Sabbath because it requires other to work on 1s behalf and is forbidden by the 4th as written in Ex 20.Why are you posting on Saturday? Why are you not in church?
Is it your claim that until the fall or until the cross the people of God should be worshiping God as our "Creator" but after the resurrection of Christ that would be replaced by the importance of worshiping him as "Savior" ??
So then ... "Paul" inferior to Augustine??

Fishing around in the old testament for commands about the seventh day is irrelevant to Christians being commanded to observe the seventh day because the old testament passages are addressed to Israel and to Judah not to Christians.
