• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've wondered and even gotten very angry with God because He wouldn't heal my depression and send supportive individuals into my life. Not a good rode to walk down. I wouldn't recommend getting mad at God, just makes you feel isolated from the one who loves you most. Makes you feel lost without your faith and makes you question where your life has gone and how it go this way. Bad, Bad news. Stay away from blaming God.

I agree, that's why instead get angry with preachers who (in my opinion) are not qualified to preach about depression, or at least don't seem helpful anyway. But I have been angry with God for other things, but God is merciful regardless of my anger and my foolishness.

Have you ever told Christians about having depression?

Have any of them ever treated you bad because of your depression?

tell your story.

Yes, I have.
I have been blessed to have people who supported me through my darkest of times, even when my own behavior should have pushed them away. Now that I think about it, they had every right leave me, but they didn't. I got comfort and support. Sometimes, they were things I didn't want to hear, but I needed too.
