I was hoping you would give a direct quote from a few sources, but I read through a few of these, and none of them seem to contradict the statement "Science shows that the major influence link is environmental." Most make no specific conclusion outside of there being "A" genetic factor to the development of sexuality. When look for percentages, most of the studies and articles I could find in conjunction with some of those you provided seem to suggest that genetics has a modest influence. Something like 18%-36% percent. If you'd like to provide a quote from some specific articles or data, that will help me considerably.
If you read things as you said one of the first things, you would notices is that having something inborn does not necessarily mean it is genetic .

The Bible teaches us that shame is remedied through renunciation. Renouncing is speaking against and disowning the source of the shame.

2 Corinthians 4:

4 we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God.

The Catholic Church does not support or condone sexual orientation conversion therapy, which aims to change an individual's sexual orientation from homosexual to heterosexual. The Catholic Church teaches that every person should be accepted and loved as they are, regardless of their sexual orientation, and that all people should be treated with dignity and respect. The Church recognizes that a person's sexual orientation is a complex aspect of their identity and that it is not something that can be changed through therapy or any other means. Instead, the Church encourages individuals to embrace and accept their sexual orientation as a gift from God, and to live in accordance with the teachings of the Church in their lives.

The Catholic Church's official stance on sexual orientation conversion therapy is stated in several Church documents.

  1. The "Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church on the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons," issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 1986, states that homosexuality is not a sin, but homosexual acts are considered morally wrong. The letter states that "there is no basis in Catholic theology for considering homosexual orientation itself as an evil."
  2. The "Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons," issued by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 2003, states that the Church does not support any forms of unjust discrimination against homosexual persons, but it also reiterates the Church's stance that homosexual acts are contrary to natural law.
  3. The "Ministry to Persons with a Homosexual Inclination: Guidelines for Pastoral Care," issued by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2006, states that the Church does not support or condone sexual orientation conversion therapy and that such therapy can be harmful to those who undergo it. The document states that the Church's pastoral care should be focused on helping individuals to understand and accept their sexual orientation, and to live in accordance with the Church's teachings.
These official Church documents reflect the Catholic Church's position that all people, regardless of their sexual orientation, should be treated with dignity and respect and that conversion therapy is not an acceptable or effective means of changing an individual's sexual orientation.

The Catholic Church teaches that all people, including those with a same-sex orientation, should be treated with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. The Church recognizes that a person's sexual orientation is a complex aspect of their identity and that it is not something that can be changed through therapy or any other means.

The Church encourages individuals to embrace and accept their sexual orientation as a gift from God, and to live in accordance with the teachings of the Church in their lives. The Church also calls for all people, including those with a same-sex orientation, to be treated without unjust discrimination and to be protected from violence and hate crimes.

In its official documents, the Catholic Church emphasizes the importance of providing pastoral care and support to individuals with a same-sex orientation and encourages these individuals to participate fully in the life of the Church. The Church's pastoral care should be focused on helping individuals to understand and accept their sexual orientation, and to live in accordance with the Church's teachings while remaining true to themselves.

It's harmful for a lot of reasons

As noted in my previous post, the Bible tells us how to deal with shame.

Secret and shameful ways respond to renunciation.

One need not remain captive to such sin.

If you are referring to a few 'wacky' persons abusing folks then yes I agree... (and this is rare.)

If you are referring to legitimate ministry in the Church, which is biblically based, then I don't agree.
