  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dude, Flyleaf beat skillet by miles. So do Demon Hunter (but theyre kinda christian metal) Relient K (quite indie but awesome still). Ocean is theory, Starfield, Sanctus real and like, tons of others. Flyleaf are best ever though.

Flyleaf kind of waffled on that question about being a Christian band "Well, you know what? I don’t know what you mean by a “Christian rock band.” It’s hard to say that because people all have a different definition of what that means. If it means that we’re Christians, then yeah, we’re Christians, but if a plumber’s a Christian, does that make him a “Christian plumber?” I mean we’re not playing for Christians. We’re just playing honestly and that’s going to come out."

Disciple said it best once. You're either in, or you're out.

I don't see anything wrong in their answer. I think it's stupid we have to label things "Christian" in the first place. Christian rock? It's just rock... these just happen to have Christian lyrics. But if you took away the lyrics it'd still be rock. You wouldn't be able to tell if it was Christian or not. Christian is not a genre... just a label for those who ONLY want to hear Christian lyrics. I think it's very limiting for a band to say "we're a Christian band"... if they put out a song that has nothing to with God, everyone goes ape nuts... better to just be a rock band and put out honest work and if they're Christians, it'll show in their music.

They're Christians in a band. The end.

And I don't even like Flyleaf... but the label thing is just stupid.

Skillet is def one if not my favorite Christian Rock band! There last 2 or 3 albums are fantastic. I seen them in concert with Toby Mac, Awake Tonight tour. I was on the dance floor 2 feet from stage. Unbelievable!

Disciple's new album "Horseshoes & Handgrenades" is awesome!

Some others already mentioned I recommend is RED, Demon Hunter (More sceamo but their last album was toned down a bit)

Family Force 5 is awesome but a slight different genre, more like rock/rap/dance mix lol. Weird dudes but awesome music. One of my fav in concert as well.

Flyleaf is great though some controversy about being a Christian band or not. As already stated, they are Christian's in a band. This is also true of Family Force 5 as well.

The way I see it is they are Christian's in a band and there's nothing negative in their lyrics then I will listen to them

Anyway, one more good mention is Thousand Foot Krutch (TFK). Their latest album "Welcome To The Masquerade" is awesome!

Hope this helps...
