nice song
Blood Of The Martyrs - Zookreeper (With Lyrics) - YouTube

LYRICS:
Lets stop acting like everything's okay
With fake smiles and eager faces we keep the truth buried inside
Away and secluded hoping they will vanish we carry on
Our own lives with a sense of false hope

"I am important" we always mumble, but the fact is we're not
In the midst of 7 billion people it's outlandish to think the world even cares
What's right and what's wrong, what's good and what's bad
The world doesn't care about your Worthless needs or want's, desires
We're all meaningless organisms in the eyes of this world
Meant to carry out a pointless existence and wait to die

But then again, who care's what the world believes?
For i know what's real, for in the eyes of God you are priceless
And by his holy spirit and unconditional love you have a purpose
So what are you waiting for?
Are you ready to prove this world wrong?

I love Christian rock. Switchfoot is my favorite! I also like Stellar Kart, Hawk Nelson and Thousand Foot Krutch. Lot's of others too. I've been checking out some Christian Dubstep lately too. Good stuff. U2 is my favorite secular group.

By the way I play guitar and would love to be in a Christian rock band. Any musicians from Eastern North Carolina here?

I usually listen to secular rock, which sometimes includes Christians in a rock band. Unfortunately, most of the Christian music I've heard does not display the talent or production value of secular music, and I find that very irritating. I've also noticed that many people are apparently very, very, very confused as to what "rock" is defined as. I still giggle and shake my head when people say that Jeremy Camp is a "Christian rocker."

I primarily listen to secular music as well. I find the part in bold to be spot on when it comes to most Christian music. Though there's bound to be some exceptions.

I grew up on Jazz and clasic rock (secular) just because that's what my dad listened to. My mom never liked music.:p

When I was 10-ish I started compiling my own list of bands that I liked (Less Than Jake, Green Day, etc). Then I started getting into some more "sophisticated" stuff. I actually still listen to a lot of secular stuff but a lot of it has a very nice message even though it's not Christian. The lyrics and message have always been important to me. And some of the stuff I listen to just doesn't make any sense.:p

So when I became a Christian I started listening to Christian rock just because I grew up on secular rock and I like the style. I just like to listen to loud, fast music. It gets me excited! Of course I play and listen to extremely mellow music to. I'm very into acoustic/folk style too.

This kind of sums me up as well. I don't have anything against Christian music but I just find a lot of it to be very repetitive and unimaginative. The Christian scene needs more daring and out-of-the-box thinkers, at least for me.

Casting Crowns and Jeremy Camp are not Christian rock. As far as RED, you shouldn't be surprised that everything is red when you go to a RED concert. Just because something is red doesn't mean it's of the devil.

Yeah... that's a rather serious thing to say about Christians.

Satan is only thought of as red because of medieval mythology, anyway. There's nothing about his appearance in the Bible except that he is "bright", which may or may not be literal.

I'm not into Christian rock. It's almost an oxi-moron to me...but whatev.

I really don't listen to any secular Christian, except for whenever I'm driving, but even then I usually keep it on a station that only plays 60s, 70s and 80s. If I'm going to listen to Christian, it's going to hymns, instrumental, Steve Green...stuff like that. I prefer it that way and consider it more reverent, as it should be in my opinion.

They just are my Favorite band that's all :)
i am sorry for bringing it up.. everyone is differnt.. I would never Knock down anyones faith or tell anyone they arent Christians.. that would be WRONG!!!

I don't look for "Christian music" any more than I try to get some "Christian plumbing" done on my clogged drain or have my spine aligned with "Christian chiropractics".

I like a lot of music that is made by Christians, though - if it's good music. And I would hire a Christian plumber or go to a Christian chiropractor, if they do good work.

I think that Christian "rock" isn't even necessary, especially in the Church. Lack of joy can't be substituted by entertainment. Apart from entertainment why would anyone listen to Christian rock?

I am not sending anyone to hell, far from it, but take out that entertainment part and see how many people like the text. That's the whole point. Worship is not the enhancement of experience, worship is the reason we sing.

Worship is the reason we sing praises, yes, but for me, rock has both entertainment value and the music expresses the joy of the lyrics I sing with rock music. The energy of the music doesn't replace joy; it expresses it.

People should be free to express praise through any music that they feel accurately expresses their attitude toward God.
